Re: Necromantic "What Are We Listening To Now?" (oldskool version)

Not 'now' as in 'this minute' but a couple of weeks ago I managed to see Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, St Vitus and Orange Goblin live in the same week - That was a good week!
Currently missing Acid Mother's Temple at my local because I forgot they were playing and agreed to be on child duty, less good.

I'm listening to Machine Head's debut album Burn My Eyes, possibly the best metal debut ever.

And here is a sample song from the album I was talking about in the Mint. I love it! (and I am most likely the only one here. :D)

Beast in Black - Beast in Black (from the album Berserker)

Tori Amos - Native Invader

If the subjective character of experience is fully comprehensible only from one point of view, then any shift to greater objectivity-that is, less attachement to a specific viewpoint-does not take us nearer to the real nature of the phenomenon: it takes us farther away from it

Cool that they are still around, even if their heyday is long gone (I think it was around Draconian Times?). Going from death doom to Depeche Mode back to leaden doom and never losing core audience is quite something. But watching them live nowadays (on YT in my case) gives the impression that they are just doing their jobs. The thrill has gone, so to speak. Or maybe it is in the ear of the beholder, don´t know...

You're pretty much entirely right!

I listened to them around 93-98, from Icon to One Second, and then it was just synth rock for a while. The latest album, Medusa, is pretty much back to basics, very doomy and gritty. I like it, as well as the previous release, Tragic Idol.
Live was good music, but boring performance. First time I saw them since the Draconian Times tour :)

Lots and lots of Dropkick Murphys... Mostly their newest album, 11 Short Stories of Pain & Glory, and The Meanest of Times.

Re: Necromantic "What Are We Listening To Now?" (oldskool version)

Concert last thursday, In Flames and 5FDP supported by Of Mice & Men.
Of Mice & Men was heavy as f**k. Got me one of their albums on the way out.
Of Mice & Men - Pain

Ok that video makes me a bit uncomfortable... The human body should not bend that way! But the music is good :)

Re: Necromantic "What Are We Listening To Now?" (oldskool version)

Still haven't re-watched that video... But I have been listening to their albums Cold World & Restoring Force at work! And I really like how the prior track "-" on Cold World leads into "Pain".

Re: Necromantic "What Are We Listening To Now?" (oldskool version)

Yeah I like that part too!

I think I might like Restoring Force better, which is the older album. New album is coming up, hope it will be _heavy_

Today I listened to Machine Head (Burn My Eyes and The More Things Change)

Re: Necromantic "What Are We Listening To Now?" (oldskool version)

Never went to that, which was the right decision because reasons.

Last week I listened a lot to Machine Head... excited about the upcoming album and concert.

This week it's a lot of ISIS (the band) spinning in my phone.
