Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

So, who'll open the Halloween mint?

no, dear, I meant Kenan! And he said it after I had said it myself, which means I agree, just am not good at it.

Re: QM - The Moot Recovery Station

I think one of the NA people should create the Halloween Mint.
We still don't know how to do that properly here.

If the one who was banned clear things up with the one who set the ban, let's move on. Otherwise, I hope they can clear things up in PM. If not, take the topic to either the halls of hmmm or the mantissery? I suggest not chatting about it here.

I tend to agree, just because I don't know all the details, and it's not my place to comment as I was not one of the involved parties.

Actually, I don't think it's really about not being involved - I am not involved in Merenwen's mother's health problems, Merenwen involves me when she chooses to open up about it.
I choose to open up about my social problem.
Were it with my mother, some boss of mine, my landlord, my lover, my doctor - I think I might tell whatever the bloody heavens I wanted to.
I think it's about my problem being with board royalty, so it gets awkward pretty quickly,
and the mint is supposed to be in itself harmonious. I have to respect that.
I'm trying hard. I'm shitty at it.

What I came in to say: Merenwen-mom doing ok so far?

but I'll just catch up some more, guess I'll find it :)

*takes bag of red wine infusion*
*looks at label* - *shakes head* ... *shrugs*

I really hope they get me before they burn this mint ...

I don't buy your comparison. Everyone would feel for Merenwen and her mom. But someone being banned and then unbanned could polarize the board. Unless you have it out for the one who banned you, who was acting on someone else's information, please move on or at least discuss it in private.

It doesn't have to be harmonious here (wouldn't that be a bit boring), but some things should be discussed in private. This is between you and ylvs. Speaking about it here make people ask questions and draw false conclusions since they don't have all the information.
If I was arguing with someone here, and it was just between me and them, then I would be pissed off if that person started talking about it here. Admittedly your ban is something that came to all our knowledge, but we also know it's over, and that's enough.

I think ylvs coined it - since Gmaen is a greeting when you enter the Mint, she turned it backwards (or mostly backwards) into Gneam, as a sort of goodbye.

*wanders off to bed, leaving dirt and dishes to be dealt with tomorrow*
I will regret this, I know I will, but I'm just too tired.
