Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - The Sheila Gilbert Party Mint

G'maen Mint!

Magpie:  Glad your sudden date went well!  *glees*

All:  Sorry, I haven't been around much lately.  I've been really busy with work - first it was catching up from being on vacation for two weeks; then I had a bad reaction to medication which kept me out for two days so I had to catch up for that; then four new projects got added to my workload; now I'm trying to get things into some semblance of order because I will be in Ohio all next week for training.  And I'm trying to refinance my mortgage.  And I went on a few dates too.  ;-)

Got a bit more work to do this evening.  Bah.

Good luck with everything - work and dates and mortgage!

Don't! You showed your support on Faceborg, and I was so appreciative. I should have mentioned my thanks, here, but I've been in trauma mode.

To post something cheery:

I had a wonderful summer night out in preferred bar with Daugther1.1 and friends. Bff and her man and two not so close friends. Daughter1.1 fitted well in the adult crowd. She was charming, funny, we played dice and had a jolly good time. I am so proud of her, the young lady. And I so enjoy being in her company.
Daughter2.0 is on a school trip this week. She's gone since Monday (have not heard a word, so she prolly enjoys herself) and won't return until Friday. So it's just the two of us this week. I enjoy it tremendously.

Daughter1.1 told me she's thinking of you, Firs.

Another awesome summer day tomorrow and then autumn will take over.

Tonight was fine.

Huggles to you all, dear Minters!

Now that sounds truly awesome! Summer nights won't last forever, so enjoy them while you can...

Ylvs, is this Daughter 2.0's first big trip away from home without her parents? Seems like quite a milestone, especially considering just a few weeks ago she was wearing a fluffy unicorn onesie in the park while singing nonsense songs about sugar. (Although, admittedly, I like nonsense songs about sugar, too).

And Daughter 1.1 is growing up so fast. I was shocked at how much she had matured, even though I knew it had been more than three years since I had seen her. Before you know it, she'll be leaving the nest. Thanks for thinking of me.

Heh, maybe you should instigate an animation blackout near the end, with a message appearing that no more animations will be available as of now, due to pay cuts. I'm sure your students can come up with something more witty than I can.

As I understood the second night was dance practise with the second group.

Re: QM - The Sheila Gilbert Party Mint

And Gmaen Mint!

No, Firs it is not her first trip without us. Not at all The first was in kindergarten and he had quite a few since then, school, with grandparents, godmothers ... she even went to Berlin all on her own in Spring (where she visited one godmother), almost four hours on the train all by herself.

This goes very well together with wearing unicorn onesies and songs about sugar!

And I am relived that I do not need to despair about youth in general.

Firs, I'm glad to hear people are standing up for you and your colleagues. *adds some more huggles*

Does this only affect your department, or others as well?
