Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

You are giving away your real name with that blog entry, of course.

If someone were that dedicated to finding out my real name, they could have found it already (via the gardening contest last year, I'm pretty sure they used my full name there a couple of times.)

And there was so much book-hugging!

Loved the blog post on the DBC re-release! Can't wait to write something on my blog!

Thanks!

I actually have another one planned, but that's taking longer to write.

Same subject?

Sort of. Mostly musings on who I was when I first read DBC, and how I've changed since then, and how getting my name in there feels like something that doesn't happen in real life.
Maybe I'll have time to write it this weekend.

Sorry, this chat is probably taking up your free time... well, bed time, actually.

Oh well.
Let's be real, if I wasn't Smarching, I would find something else online to take up my time while I don't go to bed.
(But I did finish my laundry.)
(And now I will go take a shower.)

Yeah: just think: twenty years from now, maybe some young girl will read DBC, love it, and then get to that acknowledgement page, and wonder who you are. You could become part of the legend.

Only room for one at the front of the line.  :-P

I've been attacked by those before. Nasty beasts! Good luck!

Doesn't even have to be that far in the future. It could be happening right now. And not just about me, but about all of us.

You know, out of all the things I have done in my life, I think the one I'm proudest of is suggesting we call ourselves Scrollbearers.

Just fiddle with the punctuation, that will really mess up most software!
(And then you'd have to fix it, so it is unlikely to be a winning move...)

I'm heading towards just clicking delete and denying that the file ever existed at all.  What was I just talking about?

Hey Ron, I did get the email, thanks much. Sadly Friday had been the end of a nerve-wracking two weeks of training for a new job after 3+ months of unemployment. Still in training now but less stressed about things in general.
I'll try and pop back in at another time for hellos and such.
