Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

"Strong Medicine" Dead Man`s Hand: An Anthology of the Weird West. Ed. by John Joseph Adams. Titan Books: May 2014.

I am particulary looking forward to this one: it as a story of Raj as well.

Re: Past Publications 2013

This thread is a nice service for those who aren't as up to date as others. However, if I may suggest:

Edit the first post to always list upcoming (and past) publications (ticked off, or separated in some way), and change the title of the thread to leave out the years :)

Re: Past Publications 2013

These are some good points Kenan that touch on some problems here: but if the first post is always updated and the older stuff not deleted but simply marked "published" that post will become longer and longer and it will be more difficult to keep it tidy and organized.

So, when I did the last major update I simply put the new information about 2014 editions in new post in the middle of the thread. That of course, makes it more difficult to find it.

The easiest way would be to have a FORTHCOMING thread for each calender year, so that anybody looking for particular editions published in any particular year could just chose the appriopriate thread.

Any thoughts on that?

Re: Past Publications 2013

I like Kenan's idea to keep the first post updated, if possible.

I like Olaf's idea to keep a 'forthcoming publications' thread for each calendar year... keeps it less messy.

Re: Past Publications 2013

I think keeping the first post updated is kind of essential, especially since this thread tends to grow past page 1. It's a very nice way to get straight to the information when you open the post.
You could have a "past" publications thread, or just keep doing it year by year. I suppose there will often be at least 2 threads going that way though. "Forthcoming" and "Past" would tidy things up nicely, though you could retire "past" publications from the "forthcoming" once just one a year so it won't be too much work.

Anyway, these are just suggestions, I'm not the one who has to/wants to do that job :)

edit: typos
