Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

"The Narrow Road"

I wondered if anyone else has already read Tad`s new story "The Narrow Road" that was published in January in the electronic magazine ARC 2.1: Exit Strategies?

Over on Fbook Tad suggested that this is one of his finest stories yet, but I don´t know quite what to make of it. I am not sure I understand it. It is very cerebral with hardly a plot.

Oh and the poems of 17th century Japanese writer Basho play a significant role.

And did I tell you that the main protagonist is an intelligent Black Hole that is slowly devouring the universe?

This one left me rather puzzled.

Any thoughts?

Where did you get it from, Olaf?

I did not find a download for Germany ... did not look too hard I have to confess ...

Right, that was my research. Maybe I was a day too early ...

Re: "The Narrow Road"

I'd be happy to discuss it at some point, Olaf.  Maybe we should wait until a few more people have read it, or else do it in email.

Yes, we should definitely wait till more people had a chance to read. That way it´s gonna be more fun:-)

Re: "The Narrow Road"

I intend to buy the Arc paper copy when it becomes available via POD (Must have it for The Collection). So I will read it fairly soon, and am looking forward to it. :)
