Haven't seen much of the Others yet. I'm around page 600 and the only outright appearance was that little introductory chapter, but I've also gotten past the part where on The Wall, the Night Watch went out to the weirwood grove with Jon Snow & Samwell Tarly to say their oaths, brought back the bodies, and the one was totally zombified trying to attack the Lord Commander with the crow dude. So THAT was interesting. I'm also after the part where Ned has been accused of treason, Arya has escaped (yay! She's so cute! I hope the water dancer guy is ok...), Sansa has written letters (I don't like her, she seems like kind of a b*tch for a 12 year old), and Robb has received his letter and is riding out. (Poor little Rickon :() Yeah, as far as alliances go, it is so hard to say where people like Littlefinger and Tyrion really lie, since Littlefinger has seemed to do a big 180, and Tyrion has never seemed outright allied with anyone except himself.

Oh there are so many twists and surprises waiting for you Ad1tu ... and then you'll join the rest of us in the probably long wait for books six and seven.

Bah. Being ill is boring. And so unfair - it was warm and sunny today, I could have gone to the lake. Instead, I've spent most of the day sleeping - and now I'll go sleep some more.

He's writing MOAR? Goodness, this is quickly turning into one of the highest page-count series I've read. Finished up GoT last night, started a bit into CoK. I'm most interested right now in the Night Watch story line, and Daenerys' story line. Of course I'm also interested to see what Stannis will do, how Robb is going to ultimately handle command, etc..

Re: QM - Splash!
*hugs Magpie and sends get well vibes* Yeah, when I'm ill is about the only time I watch television.
Had a lovely weekend, lots of sunshine, not too hot, great company and lovely, lovely music all day long. Even did a few dances again. Now to wean myself off of eating candy all day long again. ;)

Re: QM - Splash!
I thought I felt better, but just doing the dishes was exhausting enough that I was back on the couch, sleeping, soon after. Well, at least I'm feeling hungry again, that's got to be a good sign. I was hoping I'd be able to go back to work on Thursday (especially as there's our dance performance in the evening, which I'd hate to miss, but if I can't go to work, I can't very well go there), but now I'm not so sure that's going to happen.

Re: QM - Splash!
Still at home. Absolutely bored out of my mind, but I don't think I could make it through eight hours on my feet yet. That means I'll miss the dance performance tonight as well, and I can't even tell you how mad I am about that.

Forgetting about the madness of the Mint? Your mind must have blocked it out!
*huggles Magpie* Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well. And I so know the frustrations of not being able to do the things you love due to being too ill to work.

Re: QM - Splash!
Well, good news! I survived my root canal! Bad news... my wallet hurts :\ The procedure itself wasn't as terrible as I was anticipating. I sat in the chair around 1pm, got novacained 1:10-1:15, and I was out of the chair by 2pm. During the actual procedure, the only thing I felt was when he used a fairly coarse bit on the drill and it shook my whole head a bit :P Well and my jaw got a bit sore from being shoved open for 45 minutes... The tooth / mouth just has a very dull soreness today, not very bad at all, and my jaw is a bit sore, and I'm superrrrrr tired. But I think that's twofold: Partially because my body is saying "OMG wtf did you do to your mouth yesterday I have to recover" and partially because we went to the fair afterwards, so we were walking around for a few hours & all that fun sensory overload crap. I still have to get a crown put on this guy, unfortunately, and by the looks of things he said I'll probably need another root canal done on one of my molars :\ Hopefully I can procrastinate on that one, though, because this stuff is expensive & I don't have dental insurance...

Re: QM - Splash!
Yeah, dentists... Went there as well today. My lip and palate are pretty sore. And I have to make yet another appointment, as he found another rotten tooth hidden behind the one he just rebuilt. I feel as if I don't have any teeth that are still wholly my own...

It's waaay too hot over here. I'm rather proud of myself that I did some chores at all today!
Laundry (two loads) Groceries (though I didn't need much) Hand washing two skirts Drying an apple (very tasty, so I'll definitely make more next time) Converting all my new cds (although the computer didn't want to read one of them) Dusting the living room Repotting my brussel sprouts Cooking dinner (and loading the dishwasher)

Re: QM - Splash!
Feeling almost back to normal today. It feels good to be up and doing some useful stuff again. I do hope I can go back to work on Monday - because if I feel like I'll start screaming if I don't get out of the house soon!
Oh, and Pandy - hi and welcome (back)! Sorry I didn't say so sooner, but I've not been around much this week, and not thinking very clearly when I was. :)

Put away the dishes, fed the neighbors fishies and am looking forward to go shopping with my mom.

Re: QM - Splash!
Shopping was great. Bought a jacket, three pairs of socks, a pair of shoes, a wallet, a longsleeved shirt (although it was actually too hot to try it out!), and a cute little jacket for my niece. And afterwards we had a BBQ at my place.

Re: QM - Splash!
It's hot. Bah. And supposedly it'll be even hotter tomorrow, when I go back to work. I don't like that one bit - I already just about died watering my balcony garden, how am I supposed to work in 34°C weather?

Re: QM - Splash!
*sends cool thoughts*
Sorry, not much cool air to be found here either... It's the hottest weekend since '94 over here apparently. I got up early this morning so I could get some things done before it got too hot. Then I went and sat in the shade outside until about two, before the heat drove me back inside again...

Re: QM - Splash!
The first day back wasn't too bad. Had a sit-down task in the back of the shop (where it's relatively cool) for most of the afternoon - but of course I still had to go out to do the afternoon watering, and that was almost unbearably hot.

Re: QM - Splash!
Oof... what a longggg weekend. Started out Friday, fiancee went to pick up his dad at the airport, which involved driving across the border to Toronto. First, he crossed at the wrong bridge, then dad's flight was delayed, THEN dad found out airline LOST his luggage. Then they drove east instead of west on the 401, then they drove wayyyy too far west on the 401, and then they finally came home after stopping in the hood to get gas only 4 hours later than expected :P Unfortunately that was the only good day :\ Saturday started out good. Started some ribs on the smoker, ran around with mom-in-law to (finally!) get her a dress for the wedding. Then the shitstorm hit of: received his uncle's RSVP card, with an extra person that was specifically not invited added on. That pissed fiancee off something fierce (not that I blame him, sure, nobody likes the extra person and that's the real reason she was not invited, but if uncle had asked "hey, I notice this is only for me, can I bring a guest?" we might have said yes! But he didn't.) Then dad got involved, angry voice mail ensued.. Then we had dinner, dessert, and good conversation, at least :) Sunday was rather quiet, we all went out to breakfast, then went to watch the hydroplane races for a bit (where I got sunburnt) then hunkered down in the cooler house to watch a movie... where fiancee starts doing laundry and has a wig-out about life... talk about moving / jobs / how to deal with people respectfully that you do not like (and frankly in my opinion do not deserve to be treated with respect). Sooo yeah... Wish I was anywhere but work. :(
