I just finished the book. Enjoyed it tremendously. However, I was not surprised by who did what, when, where, how. OK, big picture wise I had it figured out about 1/2 - 2/3 of the way thru the book. Specific details, not so much. Can't wait for the next installment.

There was one specific end-thingy that really surprised me.  I can't wait for the next book either!

I, too, received an email from Amazon recommending The Dirty Streets of Heaven on top of the list.  Though that's probably because I "liked" it while I was logged in to my account.

Re: Deborahdore's Army (Bobby $) - Limited Time to Get Involved, Act Now

Finished it off this weekend! Got hunches about half way through about where certain things were headed, and ended up in the right ballpark. I wanted to smack BD upside the head towards the end, after the conversation with her, when she talks about the convention, and she leaves with the other guy, and then WHY would he go back in the elevator because OBVIOUSLY something bad is going to happen there. Didn't see the thing with Habari though, rode the clueless bus on that one all the way til the end. Want to know more about Clarence! And the whole ...

***********SPOILERS!!!!!! (minor tiny ones anyway)***********

Why angels forget their past lives but demons remember everything. Also, angels serve "the Highest" (God), but is there a Satan that is equally ambiguous, or is Hell more structured as far as demons seeing their "commanders"?

**********BIGGER SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!*************

And here's a hypothetical question: If angels only remember the last, I think it was, 30 years, if Bobby Dollar never heard another word about the Third Way, would he forget about it? And just have similar, lingering questions that feel like they have meaning, but have no idea where they came from?

Sooooo excited for the next one! *bounce*

And me, and me... never saw it coming!!

But I loved the book... cannot wait for the next one.... Read it twice already and actually thinking about a third time!!

Can we start posting reviews already? Or should we wait a bit until the publishing date?

Re: Deborahdore's Army (Bobby $) - Limited Time to Get Involved, Act Now

I think for now it would be a good idea to get the buzz going on Goodreads, there are already over 200 people who have marked the book as "to read" (and several who have read it already including Patrick Rothfuss). There are a great many authors, booksellers, book bloggers at Goodreads who can work as multipliers if we get the buzz on Goodreads really going. Maybe if several of us who have read it already would start a discussion over there, it would also help......

"Proper" more formal reviews will have their greatest effect closer to pub time, immediately before and shortly after publication.

Nice! Thanks for sharing, Olaf.

Do you know if there's a German cover yet? (If there is, I apologize for not paying better attention! Busy days lately!) I'm working on updating the 'feature' post on the site & will include all covers to date -- should have it posted some time this weekend....

@strangeshe
No, at this point point there is no German pub date and no German cover yet. But this fall is all about THE HOBBIT and Tolkien at Klett-Cotta, so maybe they did not want TDSOH to get crowded out by all things Tolkien (there are about a dozen new publications about/by Tolkien). So, I expect the book to be out in the spring 2013. The translatior Cornelia Holfelder-von-der-Tann is already working on the book.

Wow ... I'm a bit intimidated now, I can never write such a witty and to the point review!
Will still try my best ...

Actually, I have nothing much to add to what Lisa already said.

Reviews on Amazon are very important and can have great influence. However, I would not recommend posting reviews on Amazon at this early date.  Rather better to post them immediately around pub day. But a good number of Amazon reviews can help to boost a title.

I have started a wordpress blog specifically to collect all info about TDSOH for easy reference.

http://thedirtystreetsofheaven.wordpress.com/

Thank you for this, Olaf! (If I didn't say it before, I should have. And if I did, it deserves repeating! ;)

ETA: I'm working on our permanent Books page as well as updating the Featured Post for DSOH (plus a post or two with reviews so far and a couple other things). The site page will probably bear a striking resemblance to yours material-wise (ie, the Rothfuss quote, the cover art, the Penguin blurb, the Book Trailer video, & publisher links -- you're very thorough! ;)
