Re: Holiday Card Exchange

The first Smarch card just arrived!
Thank you Magpie for the wonderful Stiefmütterchen covered in snow. Lovely picture!
And it's not only the first Smarchcard but the first christmas card this season. Will have a place of honour on the living room wall.

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

Since there were so few of us participating in the card exchange this year, I decided to do something a little extra.  This, of course, required me to have to order some things, things which have not yet arrived, grrrrrh!  Which is to say that I'll be a little late in getting my cards out, sorry!

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

I was very proud to have finally carried my first few cards to the post box yesterday. Only after I had finished my shopping and put the key in my door again, it hit me: I hadn't put any stamps on the envelopes! Argh!!!
I have no idea what they are going to do with the cards. My addres is written on the envlelopes, so they might turn up in my own mail box again. Should they be delivered to you, I really, really hope they don't charge you guys extra or something. That would't be very christmassy.

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

@ Libra: no, I'm not knitting stuff.  And the things that I ordered arrived today, yay!  Now I just have to put it/them together.

@ xavie: Oh no!  I don't imagine that international mail would be sent without postage, but if I DO receive your card, I'll definitely make a post here!

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

I have a Magpie card (Ivo wondered what kind of flower it was) and an ylvs card. (Along with Freya's kraken! Thanks for the explanation.)

Oops, xavie! Yeah, I did that once too. Never knew if the card was delivered or not.

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

I received ylvs' card yesterday (and had a brief "I feel old" moment, both because those girls have grown so much since the one time I've seen them, and because I'm saying stuff like "they've grown so much".)

It's a horned pansy or viola.

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

And today, I got a penguin, who dropped stars and reindeer and Christmas trees all over my laundry basket (yes, I should know better than to open Smarchcards over laundry baskets... what if it had been evil glitter? I would be wearing glittery clothes for two weeks!) Also, there was a hole in the envelope, so I'm sure some of those reindeer escaped and are now breeding and running amok in the post office.

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

I got a father christmas today that did the very same thing as your penguin Magpie - how's that possible???
Libra, thank you for card wishes and shiny stuff.
Have to think where to put  shiny stuff this year. If I let it Drift through the house as usual it will most probably be eaten by silly young cat. Not a healthy diet I suppose.

But it would have been the perfect time for glittery clothes... so during the Christmas season!!!

Re: Holiday Card Exchange

Oh, now I'm very much looking forward to reindeers and benguins and father christmassesses!

If I don't here from you guys soon or if I find my cards back in my mailbox, I'll send out a new batch. Of course, not-receiving-cards due to my sillines is not an option. The stupid thing is that I left the envelopes open to remind myself that I still had to buy stamps. At the post box, they had posted a sign: "Please check if you have closed your envelopes", so I licked and closed them all very neatly and put them in the box. Why didn't they have a sign "pleas check if you have put a stamp on all your envelopes"? I don't get it.

Xavie, you're not going to believe this but I received your card today!  Funny thing is, it made it all the way over here without postage, but was put in my neighbor's mailbox by mistake.
