Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

What's the timing again... when do prices change?

Re: WFC 2013 (Brighton, UK)

So as mentioned before, I've long since gotten my ticket. But the hotel is now taking reservations and they have twin or double rooms. So I'd like a room mate to share the room with. Who's up for it?

Re: WFC 2013 (Brighton, UK)

Like I said in the Mint, I considered it, but decided I'd rather safe the money for other stuff (meaning, of course, buying a garden one day...)

Re: WFC 2013 (Brighton, UK)

I wanna go, but don't have the money to stay in a hotel...... was thinking of volunteering as well.... so don't count on me.... really can't afford it (well... now... I don't know whether I'll be even worse off then.. haha...)

Re: WFC 2013 (Brighton, UK)

*crosses fingers for Libra* As I said, I have another candidate for room sharing, so if two other people show up, we can share two rooms. (But we'll need to know reasonably fast, I think.)

Volunteering doesn't give any monetary benefits, though. And I might be volunteering as well. Even if it's only the book bag stuffing! (Since that way you get to pick your own content.)

But for those who don't know, you won't need to buy food while at WFC, the hospitality room takes care of all that. (I helped there in Toronto.)

Guess I'll share the room with Amanda. I do hope some of you will be able to make it last minute.

Woah, all of the con-rooms are booked already! They were looking at overflow hotels, but didn't expect to need them until next month. *is now looking at other hotel nearby*

Wow, that was quick.  This is on my radar, but my plans are still up in the air.  Family things may cause me to go to Asia again next year.

Re: WFC 2013 (Brighton, UK)

I wish those 4p rooms that are so common on the American continent were as common here. If I couldn't book a 2p room (as was the case in Calgary), I could just sneak some people in at the last minute... But alas, that's not how it works over here in Europe.

Awesome! I'll be staying at the Mercure (which is down the road from where the convention is).
