Re: QM - The Neverending well
Fine. Not too much work, not too much heat, life could stay like this for a loooong time.
Washing a million of jars in preparation of a midnightly jam-making session right now.

Strawberries washed and cut up, and now the big stirring begins. *drags a chair over to the stoves*

Three-day weekends are perfect - one day to get stuff done, one day to relax, and one day to meet friends. Why can't we have three-day weekends every week?

Re: QM - The Neverending well
Well.... I cancelled the house.... the form they sent us to sign had new unknown clauses in it which we had not been informed about before..... And saw a new place that has so much more potential that it dazzles me!!! *need all fingers and toes crossed*

There's a three day weekend here as well.

Re: QM - The Neverending well
I'm seriously thinking of cutting my working hours from 38 to 36, so I can have a three day weekend every two weeks... (Although, it will take months and months before I'll act on such thoughts.)

Re: QM - The Neverending well
I hate to actually mention it, but next semester I will have a FOUR-day weekend.
Well, it just means I don't have to teach from Thursday to Sunday, but there is still preparations and paper writing to be done during that time.
I strongly recommend it!!!

I hope you'll get some time (aside from preparation and grading) to enjoy those weekends!

Re: QM - The Neverending well
Whoops, totally lost track of time while goofing around with my best friend!
I sometimes wonder what "normal" people talk about - we spend all day talking about things like why all the alien species we made up as kids have hair, or giggling about stuff like the dramatic announcement,"the new weapon of mass destruction: the flatscreen!" or "strawberries, bananas, Chimi-dai-rui, Te-goai, all the same thing, they've all got hair - oh no, wait, bananas don't..." or "I don't mind corpses. I just don't want puke or piss-puddles!"

Re: QM - The Neverending well
*drops into mint and wails*
Even a three day weekend was too short.... really don't want to go to work tomorrow!!!!
So we're back to the house we had already... seems that some of the clauses are standard and some can be changed.... but we have a little opt on another property which isn't on the market yet and which is an actual house.... only issue with it is that it's not available until 16 August... so tomorrow I'll be calling them and seeing if there is a little chance to get it earlier.... if not we'll stick with the current house.... This thing is driving me nuts, not only because of the house hunt but also because my siss is playing up and if she keeps doing this I'll prolly end up deciding not to live with her at all!! She now wants to bring her couch (which is at my parents' place) to her current house, so we both have comfortable places to sit on.... What??? It's just weird... I mean I get that living in a tiny house together will take some actual give&take, but we can't hire a van to drive her couch over, that's just silly... she has a couch... and chairs a-plenty....

Oh and then she got all pissed of because of me and mum saying it was not such a good idea..... pffff....

The thing with three-day weekends is... they're not too short, for me, but after three days I've gotten so used to not working that I don't want to go back to work!

Re: QM - The Neverending well
Where the fluttering flamingo is my jacket?! It's not at home, it's not at work, I'm 99% sure I didn't leave it on the train (and it's not at the lost+found, I already called), I know I didn't wear it when I went shopping on Saturday, and there's nowhere else I've been. Guess I'll blame my cleptomanic goblin again.

Re: QM - The Neverending well
So tired. Was in Los Angeles for the weekend (flew in Friday night, flew home Monday night). While we were there, went to the Los Angeles Museum of Art. They had a Tim Burton exhibition there (plus lots of other art). Very interesting and overwhelming. Los Angeles is overwhelming. *whew* Kinda glad I don't live there anymore.
Stepped out of the airport in Charleston. It was like getting smacked in the face with a wet towel. Humidity very high. Hopefully, it rains soon. T-storms forecast for tonight and tomorrow. We'll see.
Someday will find you.

Re: QM - The Neverending well
BF and I have been re-doing the balcony(including the deconstruction of an old shelf and an old trunk and two trips to the Garden center) yesterday and today. All new flowers and herbs and plants are in their pots now, the balcony is clean and looks awesome and spacious, and we're dead tired. Everything hurts! The cat now has 4 plants to nibble on(2 different kinds of grass especially for cats) and lots of space to lie in the sun or shadow. He approves.
