Another wonderful sunny day here. With all the south windows, it's actually getting quite hot in here! Summer will be "fun".

*hellos the Mint, ducking for cover* Whew!!! That was close. What that a flaming toilet of doom that landed just feet away from me?
At work. On a Saturday. Just a few hours, then to the knitting store for new needles. One of my zero's broke yesterday. Teach me not to buy bamboo.

Bamboo zeroes? That sounds very fragile!
I'm knitting with nr 4 right now. (= 4mm) A cardigan for my niece. I'm only at three cms yet. I had to take the first cm apart again, as I'd made a mistake and couldn't find where I'd made it.

That would be awesome! Now who do you think we should try and convince to pay us?

Now, time to eat something, and then I should go out for a bit of guerilla gardening.

Damn, missed Libra!
But I had a nice few hours with a book and knitting... Now I'm debating whether I should go buy more books on Monday (last day before I go back to work, after which it'll be harder to find time/energy for book-shopping) - it'll make it even harder to catch up with the Otherland reread...

Maen Mint!
About to do some calculations for my niece's cardigan and then take it apart again to start over. Turns out the yarn I had did not behave in the way I thought it would. (Yes, yes, should have made me a swatch, but that would have been just as much work as I have now.)

Re: QM - Warning! Stay out! Explosion danger!
I allowed myself to sleep in today... nothing much to be done today (except cleaning up the mess from where I dropped some plants last night).
I want to go to the forest today to look for wild garlic, but now it's dark and cloudy again - couldn't the sunshine have lasted another day?

*waves at Libra and Magpie*
Quiet day here today. Lots of rain, so no going outside. Working on my niece's cardigan again. Almost back to the point where I ended last night. (Before taking it apart.)

Gosh, an exploding Mint! I'd beter go find my hard hat which I got from my former job.
.....
Nah, can't be bothered. I think I'll go to bed early and read some more Otherland. I've already been introduced to Christabelle and Orlando and that psycho-guy (I think he is called Dread in English). Ooh, it's definitely possibly my absolute favourite series. I can't wait to experience all the amazing adventure again!

Re: QM - Warning! Stay out! Explosion danger!
Went to the forest today, but no wild garlic yet. Unfair - why is it growing in the botanical garden, and not in the forest, where I could pick it. On the way back, we took the bus past my old home - the house my parents had to sell when they divorced - and it's now painted turquoise (it used to be light grey). It's a bit ... strange to see it like that, but it doesn't look bad.
And my cooking today wasn't very successful... some of my bread dumplings just ... melted.

Re: QM - Warning! Stay out! Explosion danger!
I has achieved victory!!!! Have been wrestling with my irish flute (like a flute) for ages, trying to figure out how to actually get music out of it.... Whistle is straight (like a recorder), while the flute has this hole in it that you need to use in a specific way (and on top of this my teacher from the music weekend actually told me I had the most difficult flute she'd ever seen because of the size of the hole)... But today I picked up the flute and almost made it completely through Inisheer.... and it's such a gorgeous sound... and I'm all happy and glowy and now I don't want to stop, so I'm actually thinking about taking it to work tomorrow and practising in the car during my lunch break because I should now keep on going.... Weeehhh!!! I love it! I'm so happy.... persistence DOES work.... I'm utterly amazed!
*proud Libra off to bed*

Spent the day in Savannah visiting youngest.
Store was out of size zeros (2 mm). Must go to one of the large chain stores tomorrow at lunch. *sigh*

It was too soft, so when I took it out of this pot, it was just a gooey lump... very weird - only two of them were like this, the other 8 or 9 were fine (luckily - I'd be very pissed off if they'd all been like that, because I was making a large batch so I could freeze some for when I don't feel like cooking after work.)
