Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen
Haven't been to the mint for a while. Probably because my computer keeps hanging. Some days I just can't be bothered turning it on.
I've been wanting to read Otherland in Swedish for some time now, but the first volume (there are 8 in the Swedish translation) has been lent out from the library and apparently it's not a book that can easily be bought. I first thought the person reading it would finish it and check it back in, but no such luck, so now I have reserved it and will hopefully get my hands on it in the beginning of March. Hopefully I can then get my hands on the second volume (after reading the first volume) before the other reader, since (s)he seems to be a slow reader.
Anywho, it's something to look forward to.
Another thing to look forward to is that I'm going to round two of a job interview either on March 4th or 7th. I'm already contemplating what to wear.

*waves lazily*
I just ate way too much, so now I can hardly move, and I have to cook again tomorrow - the leftovers from yesterday didn't last very long.

Uh-oh! Sounds like your PC needs a tune-up.

Are there online bookstores that you could purchase the translated Otherland from there in Sweden? Also: if you get the book, feel free to join us in our Otherland re-read here. We'd love to hear insights about the Swedish-language version.

Good luck! :) And be sure to find out which date it's on before you go. ;)

Of course now that I wasn't going anywhere more exciting than the post office, it was sunny. Then again, it was bloody cold, too - colder than during the weekend, I think.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen
Yes, my computer could probably do with a tune-up. I's a very nice Samsung laptop that I bought 2 years ago, and we've moved twice since then and I'm not exactly sure where I put the papers and certificates that came with it, so I'm not so sure about reinstalling Vista without actually having an OS on hand to install.
I would love to join in on the Otherland discussion when I get my hands on the books. It's probably my favourite Tad series.
My job search got more interesting yesterday. I went to an interview in December that led to a second interview in January wich unfortunately didn't lead to a job then, but yesterday the guy called me and said that the company which had said they were full up in January are now looking again and if I am interested in coming in for an interview with the company. The interview is tomorrow evening.
Soooo... this means that I now have two potential jobs out there. Both are for companies here in town.

I'm not feeling too great, either - I do hope that I'm not getting sick, with less than one week until I start working again.

E-Books are evil. In bed, sick, for the last three days. Finish a book, wanna read another? Just punch "buy." My poor bank account.

I'm just trying to prove to myself that the last few months weren't quite as much of a financial disaster as they seem, that it's all just due to moving, and this is after all what I was saving money for (apart from my ultimate goal of buying a garden, of course, but I haven't yet touched those savings accounts), and that the amount of money I've spent on books and plants isn't all that big in comparison to what I spent on stuff for my apartment, so I'm perfectly justified in buying more of both.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen
I got an email saying that Otherland volume 1 is waiting for me at the library. Can't wait to get my hands on it. I am going to pick it up tomorrow before getting on the train to my job interview. Perfect - this way I can start reading it on the train and get into the Swedish language before attempting to speak it with the natives.
Things seem to be going my way!

Hehe, as long as you don't use bits of Otherland-slang in your interview - might earn you some strange looks! ;)

Unless the interviewer is a Tad fan, in which case you might score a job!
But probably safer to go with what magpie said ;)

That would be funny, though.
Nice and sunny today. I think I'll go to the botanical garden, useful things be damned.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen
It is a nice sunny day here today, too, Magpie. However, I have to be at work. *sigh* I hope the good weather holds through the weekend. Plan on a trip to Savannah on Sunday.
Enjoy the flowers!
