Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. Re: Austria Moot II

I'm busy booking plain tickets all the while I'm totally forgetting to tell you guys about it! We are totally coming and planning to stay forever! I hope we are still welcome! Forever means from friday afternoon to monday noon by the way! Sisterdew, you are totally required to come! What is an Austria moot with only one half of the Austrians there? Also, we need to convince the Nifty Raven to attend after we have scared him so badly the last time! Magpie, I didn't know you drove! We were glancing at the airport bus time table and were a little scared. The bus leaves seven minutes after the plain arrives and we are prepared to run very, very swiftly!

Now, somebody has to stop me from shouting and bouncing excitedly so I can go and actually book those tickets.

Booked!
If you like it or not, we are coming! :D

We'll arrive in Linz on Friday at 17.55 and take the same flight back as Sahi on Monday.

Re: Austria Moot II

Yay!

Xavie, I do drive, but only if I have to - I've driven precisely three times since I got my license.
I had better tell my mother I'll need the car, too... (And her guest matresses and bedding... though two of you will have to make do with sleeping bags.)

Sisterdew, I do hope you can make it - it would really be a shame if we had an Austria moot without you.

Re: Austria Moot II

I want to come..

I do pay considerably less rent from now on, so yeah. I can swing it. I'll be coming Saturday then, just tell me a time when it'd be convenient to arrive- around 9ish?10ish?
And where do we meet? In Linz? should I come to Leonding? What are the plans?

Re: Austria Moot II

Around 9 or 10 sounds fine to me. As for where we'll meet, I guess we won't be able to decide that until we know what we'll do that day. If we decide to go somewhere, that almost certainly means going to/past the train station in Linz, so we could pick you up there, and if we don't, there's a bus line going directly from the station to my place (OK, I'm a few minutes from the bus stop, but not hard to find.)

Re: Austria Moot II

Yay! Sisterdew's coming!!

Since we have two full days, it might be nice to spend one of them in Linz (whatever there is to see). Does Sacher Torte come from Linz or any other really famous (or mor important: delicios) tart? Then we have to eat a lot of that.

BTW we can also bring a sleeping bag, if necessary.

Re: Austria Moot II

Talking about cake, there'll definitely be some of that on Friday (my birthday).
... I wonder how long it'll take me to become so language-confused that I'll answer those birthday phone calls in English!

I think between my mother and me, we've got enough sleeping bags, so you don't have to bring any. Just not enough blankets.

Ah, the three of you (presumably including Sahi) will then finally be bringing xavie and me breakfast on bed (and/or carrying our bed to the breakfast place)? It's about time... We've been waiting for that since Vienna!

(In other words: *horror* and *shudder* at the mention of such undogly hours!) :P

Re: Austria Moot II

I has booked!!!!!!! I is coming to Austria!!!!

And unless something really bizarre happened, I'll be in the same flight as Sahi! We might even be able to plot our way to seats next to each other.... I have heard that constant staring at someone will make them very nervous and liable to change seats with you!

Will we do something a little hike-ish as well?????? I mean.... it's Austria!!! I must have air!!!!

Oh, and Magpie.... I'm assuming that the bringing of sleeping bags and mattrasses is probably a good idea? Or do you have beds for all of us *grin*?

Weeehhhh!!!

Re: Austria Moot II

I think we should have enough matresses - I've still got to buy a couch, but when I do, I'll definitely get one that can be turned into a bed, and then I have my old makeshift sofa/guest bed, and I can borrow two more from my mother, same with sleeping bags, unless you prefer to bring your own. How we'll fit all those matresses into the flat is the bigger question... might be good that ylvs couldn't come, or someone might have to sleep in the bathtub. ;)

Which reminds me, I need to borrow a table, too. My tiny one definitely won't be enough.

If the weather isn't too horrible, we can definitely do some hike-ish thing as well. Xavie wanted kangaroos, so we could walk up to the zoo on the Pöstlingberg (which isn't really[i] a mountain, even if they call it that. I swear, every hill is called "Berg" round here. Froschberg, Freinberg, Bauernberg, Michaelsberg, Gaumberg, Buchberg, there's even a place simply called Berg...).
Aan, you made me laugh so hard! I'd almost forgotten about that!
Hm... we could put your bed into the kitchen, and then we could actually [i]cook
your breakfast in your bed... *goes to check if the kitchen is large enough for ridiculously tall people to lie down* Well, I suppose we could always leave the door open so your feet can stick out...

Re: Austria Moot II

*giggles madly*

I don't know to whom I have to reply first!

1. Linzer Torte! I knew there was something! (Even if it was very obvious) We must have that.

2. Libra, I'm quite willing to secretly whisper all (or) some of Aan's very ticklish spots to so he can be properly transported to the food in the morning, if you trade me something very good (I could be bribed with Linzer Torte for example)

I think we should have enough matresses - I've still got to buy a couch, but when I do, I'll definitely get one that can be turned into a bed, and then I have my old makeshift sofa/guest bed, and I can borrow two more ...Couches?? from my mother, same with sleeping bags, unless you prefer to bring your own... Couches??? How we'll fit all those ...Couches? into the flat is the bigger question... might be good that ylvs couldn't come, or someone might have to sleep in the bathtub. ;)

You've got a bathtub?? Awesome!!

I love this moot already! The ridiculous giggling has started four weeks befor we even arrived there!!

Nooo! Matresses! Sleeping bags, and matresses again! *giggles* Sheesh, it's not even so late. I should still be able to make sense!
... then again, one of the sentences I remember from Vienna is "I'm a Smarcher. I don't have to make sense." (One day, I'll get that put on a T-shirt.)

Yup. Sadly, not that much hot water. *glares at the water heater, willing it to heat more water more quickly*

I hope none of you are allergic to dogs, because no matter how much I clean, there probably still are some dog hairs around from the previous tenants.
Or to cats, since I'm planning to get myself one.

Re: Austria Moot II

I've been sleeping in cat-poo lately, so nothing worse could make me go bad.... *grin*

Just quick explanation.... His Catness Bobby has had a bit of difficulty with..eh..delivering his goods... Poor beasty had to go to the vet and get a (forgot the english word for this) cleaning out (from behind)... He's not looked at me with trust yet since that happened... *grin*... But anyway, nobody's allowed to touch his behind now, and as he's still quite large, he can't clean himself there, so he's been wiping it all over his favourite hang-outs... including my bed!

Re: Austria Moot II

Thank you, Libra, for the very detailed report about your catly health!

Magpie, don't you already have a cat, or did Gandalf stay behind at your mother's? I'm fine with cats. I dislike dogs, but if it's only dog hair, I'll be fine.

Sahi, live music? Recorder? I'm confused!
