Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

Hurray!

I've just taken a walk to the supermarket to get some more stuff to drink. The amount of snow over here is insane! (For the Dutch anyway.)

Anybody want a 10% discount coupon for the bookdepository.com? PM me your e-mail-address if you do. (I have to give them said address, and they claim to only use it to send the discount coupon. So if you're not okay with that, don't PM me.)

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

Well, that was a frustrating shopping trip - talked to a really unpleasant clerk at the paint store - rude and incompetent, didn't even know the kind of paint I wanted even exists, let alone that they sell it. Luckily, his colleague took over then.
However, I still have to wait till Monday, as they didn't have the smaller bucket that I needed, and they have to order it.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

I've had my Christmas tree up for 2 weeks now. It's probably going to be dry and half dead before Christmas Eve, but I just couldn't wait.

Going to Denmark today to visit family. I'm going to eat a lot of æbleskiver (see link for description). http://nefermiw.blogspot.com/2005/11/bleskiver.html

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

Meant to go to bed early, and get up early to start painting my kitchen, or at least covering everything that paint shouldn't drip on... but then I made the mistake of starting Shadowheart, and stayed up until 4 AM. It's surprising I'm even up before midday.

Christmas tree acquired. Will decorate this afternoon.

Knitting and watching X-Files. It's really interesting to watch episodes, back-to-back, with no commercials.

Both cats are sitting in the exact same patch of sunshine.

Someday will find you.

Sinterklaas has come and passed... no it's time for food.... all creatures 'cept for me have already been fed... Now my turn... trying to be sneaky as his Catness has been extremely interested in my food lately....

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

*le sigh* Rough & stressful weekend. Work is not going well at all. I have to work crappy hours for crappy pay and we won't even talk about the people that I have to work with, as that'll get me going on a tangent that might end in me saying things I'm not supposed to say.
It doesn't make sense. I have to work to pay for, well, life. But I go to school, and apparently *that* is supposed to be life, but I can't spend so much time on things because I have to work to afford to live comfortably... ugh. I mean, I know it could be worse, I'm not complaining about the situation itself, I just wish I could catch a break on the stress level. Like ooo buy a lotto ticket and win a few thousand. lol

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

It's a frustrating weekend. I feel like I'm accomplishing nothing, constantly confused or forgetting things, and everything else also seems determined to get in my way, like delayed trains and idiotic salespeople.

I can only hope Monday will be better.

Sent a job application today. The job sounds interesting, so I'm crossing my fingers. I'm sure that if they invite me to an interview they will want to hire me on the spot.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

Things continue to be crazy-crazy-crazy, life continues to throw obstacles in my way, like the paint store still not having the right kind of paint, so I can't finish painting my kitchen, and it's all very frustrating.

But I have Shadowheart. So at least some consolation while I sit on the bus being sent from one place to another, chasing for things I wanted to have a week ago.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

Uargh. Tired and headachy and bellyachy... wanna go back to bed. But I can't. And my room is descending deeper and deeper into utter chaos.

On the plus side, the floor in my bedroom is nice and shiny again. Maybe I'll paint that room next. And then I can start moving furniture, hooray.

Re: QM - Magpie's Kitchen

So I guess I complained too much about missing the snow storm, as it's been snowing almost constantly for the past 2 days here, lol. Only have maybe 6-8" total accumulated, but it makes everything look pretty and everyone drive like morons... :) lol I wonder if we get snow days here..?

6 more classes left this semester, and 3 finals! *trudge trudge trudge*
