Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Thanks!

*bounces some more*

I was sooo nervous, it was ridiculous. Didn't sleep more than 4 hours.
Now I think I'll go to the garden centre and buy myself a celebratory plant.

Re: QM - SPQR

Huzzah for drivingness!

In other news I watched the last series of red vs blue today after finally getting the whole series on dvd.

It was emotional. I shall now have to stage an epic RvB marathon and watch the entire series from start to finish. I think i may have to write off a weekend sometime in the future...

Re: QM - SPQR

Job interview went OK, too - still not convinced I want the job, though. Pay is OK, but the working hours are crazy, and would make moving difficult. Might not be able to live in my new place until after Christmas.

Sounds like you shouldn't take the job then, Magpie. Sounds like a lots of reasons not to.

Re: QM - SPQR

It wouldn't be for long - just the four weeks before Christmas. I think I could deal with crazy hours for four weeks - not much worse than the nursery in May. But I might not get the job anyway. *shrugs*

Re: QM - SPQR

I don't know if I'd call that good - I actually don't mind being unemployed that much, I like having time to relax, but this year, with the apartment to pay for and all the stuff I need to buy, money is worrying me a bit.
But oh well. One way or another, I'll make this work out.

I wouldn't call it "good" either. But, I have a job and get a paycheck. *shrugs* Hopefully, things will turn around again (soon) and they'll adequately staff these cases.

Yay for cats! It's good to hear that something nice came from your loss, 'dew.

Ad1tu, welcome back!

Finally convinced myself to get out of the house without having to. A bit of sunshine is nice.

Re: QM - SPQR

Still insanely busy. And we're busy at work too, so it's just not done to Smarch there. But I love being busy at work. I hope to find some more time to be online in the evenings when November is over.

Congrats Magpie! *hands Magpie a virtual car and watches her zoom around* Know what? We should totally have a QM - the race court when this Mint is done!

Re: QM - SPQR

So, question.
I'm going to the arts & crafts store down the street tomorrow with the intention of trying something hobby-esque. Trouble is, I'm not sure what to try! Whatever it is, it must have instructions or some kind of beginners book that I can follow along with, as I am not good at "Here's a block of wood, make a bird house!" Would prefer something not specifically seasonal and not terribly expensive to start out. Any suggestions?
