Re: Infinity's
Hey Jen ~ how are the fires there? Its been weird because all of the smoke from BC blew into Alberta last week & we couldn't see 3 feet in front of us for all of the smoke, but we don't hear much about the fires that are causing it.
Luckily the jet stream moved away and we're clear here again, last Weds I opened my patio door and would have sworn that my neighbors had a fire in their backyard the smell was so strong!!

Re: Infinity's
How is our Jen?
Has anyone heard from her recently?
There is a new cafe opened up near to where I work, and it made me think of how we imagine Infinity's to look when I popped in today - rather bad tea selection in the new place though.
It also made me wonder if you have David's Tea shops out west? They have some interesting blends....although 'interesting' is not always 'good'. Their oolong selection is great though.

*waves to anyone who might be around*
A month since I've visited here! Bad calesta! *duct tapes self to chair*
There, that's better.
Have been bogged down in back to school, back to hockey and trying to find a job. Its really hard & sucking that I can't seem to get hired. I know something will come up, but the search is wearing me down!
I have not seen a David's tea store here, but that's not to say that I haven't walked right past one unawares. I will have to search it out. Do you have any favorite blends AJ?

Re: Infinity's
*waves back*
We've been busy with renovations, and with getting ready for winter, which is one of those tasks that seems to go on forever.
The kid is back at uni, and the garden is done for the year, the kitten is growing bigger and more monstery and I'm doing a lot of baking. :)
Tea would be lovely. :)

Re: Infinity's
Didn't you get the memo? We are not having winter!
Yeah, they came by and asked if we wanted to skip it this year and we said why not?
No icy roads, no -30 - none of it! Just warm sunshine from now 'til April. I might even put the garden in this weekend.

***waves to Jen and Calesta***
Glad to know you're well Jen.
As to weather so long as there's no rain (of the freezing sort and the other) this winter I do not care!
Autumn is quite spectacular here - all the maples are a firey red so it is very pretty. I haven't put my garden to bed yet as I've still got flowers on the day lillies and the hydrangeas strangely enough.
The lake is full of geese getting ready to migrate and today they are flying over the house...

You would not want to visit today, wind and rain and slippery pine needles everywhere!!!
Absolutely thinking good smarch vibes - go get both those jobs Calesta and then choose your favorite!!! :D

Re: Infinity's
Thanks for asking AJ ~ they went well - I got a little job as DVD merchandising rep for some of the stores around here - not that difficult or anything - but the hours are perfect, 2 days a week, so I can start getting my work feet wet again without disrupting too much of our lives here. There is potential to add more hours or accounts so I can ease into it and then pick up some extra $$ if I want. In all it really seems perfect for me. We'll see what the reality is when I start working next week!
The kids are back to being on the ice for what feels like 5 times a day - (really only about 6 times per week) - I had somehow forgotten or blanked out how crazy it feels.
And its snowing here this morning! Was 23C yesterday - and now snow. Guess I'd better find a way to put the snow tires on the car sooner rather than later...

Congrat's on the job Calesta!!!
Ahh, Hockey and Ringette time of year? I am a bit relieved my two never got the hockey bug. Mind you, Karate is eating our lives these days. They were asked to try out for the swim team but the 7am swim starts put them off.
I saw you had snow. It's cloudy, rainy and breezy here - but nice enough today that we all finished putting the garden to bed.

Re: Infinity's
I have been waiting for the snow and a killing frost to be able to clean out my yard. We have giant crab spiders all over the place & I cannot handle them! I haven't been through the side yard of my house in a month. pathetic!

Re: Infinity's
Spiders? *runs* I've been waiting for a good frost, too. We have these horrible beetle-things that the kids call stinkbugs cuz they smell horrible if you bother them or kill them. I haven't been out in the yard in a month.
Congrats on the job, Calesta. Sounds like a perfect fit. :)

Re: Infinity's
Okay we've had some good frost, some snow. I am thinking it might be safe to go out in the yard again....
The lack of giant spiders was always in the plus column for Calgary, but they seem to have found me....

You might have thought that with snowfalls and -5 frosts that it would be safe to go in the side yard again. You would be wrong. *shudders*

Re: Infinity's
Yikes!!
I would have thought -5 would have done for the spiders.......
Snow seems to be a weekend activity here so far this year. It snowed in the early hours of Saturday morning (I know this as I was out until 2am and no snow then!!!) and I got up to a little winter wonderland. It melted away fairly quickly though.
And we are forecast for more this weekend. So I will be raking leaves like a maniac on Saturday!

We are supposed to get 5-10cms on Monday. That is because Mr.Calesta is going to Seattle. So it has to snow.

Re: Infinity's
I want a minion!
Especially after seeing most of Megamind yesterday. I say most since my son ended up manifesting his flu after we got to the theatre. So I spent a lot of time hanging out in front of the washroom waiting for him. *sigh* That was money not well spent....

Winter has arrived here with 17cms of snow and lots of ice on the road. I have decided its not really the cold and snow I mind so much as the terror I feel everytime i have to go anywhere.

***eyes the yard****
Minions would be handy.....then again would I need them if my neighbours raked?
I saw the weather report Calesta and I did think of you and Jen. It seemed cold and snowy everywhere except southern Ontario and Quebec. Can't say I mind.
I am right in thinking out west has January type temperatures?
I hope your son is feeling better soon.
At the moment I am hiding in the basement as my eldest and some of his friends are playing D&D upstairs. This is the best way to fight temptation as I'd like to play to but I doubt mum crashing your game would be cool. I've already been embarassing by asking lots of questions as they arrived!! :D

Re: Infinity's
I am still not feeling too christmassy....although i had today off and started my holiday baking (for the freezer) and pressie shopping
The roads are pretty lethal here today - we saw the aftermath of a couple of accidents which I hope everyone got out of ok, but which took the christmas fun out of the day really.
tomorrow is another day off so hopefully I will finish the pressie shopping and buy a tree. I might get some new christmas music to - that should help.
Here's a shocker - at least it is to me...my oldest (who was just in school when I started to hang out at smarch), is sixteen at the beginning of the New Year...which means I have been online chatting with you for nine years!
I have to say, it's been a lot of fun :D
