Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - The 80's

My goodness! I haven't been here in so long I hardly know what to say.

Umm...I finally found my password.  Oh! and I had a baby.  Of course that was almost two years ago, right about the time I lost my password...and my mind.

Ok, see you all around here sometime, have fun!

Tired out from work, and now I still have my own plants to take care of. Stupid bloody spider mites and scale insects!

Re: QM - The 80's

*waves back*

I was counting on the brotherbeastie to come home and help me lift that impossibly heavy plant back out of the bathtub. And now - where is he? And what am I going to do?

Re: QM - The 80's

Like ceywren, Ren, anybody know?

cyan? mabs?

Who else? I'm drawing a blank...

Just curious. I was in Toronto about 6 months ago and thought of ceywren.

Re: QM - The 80's

Cyan and mabs are still here (not as much as they used to be, though) - and I actually met cyan in August.
Ren's not around any more, though we do get the occasional post. And ceywren... I don't think she's been around since the Smarchmoot in Germany over two years ago. :( *still misses the ghostly one*

Re: QM - The 80's

In other news, I found that monstrous plant wasn't actually that heavy - not heavier than the bags of potting mix I have to lift at work, but a less convenient shape. So I managed to get it out of the bathtub by myself after all.

Re: QM - The 80's

Well, it's nice to know at least that everyone has other meaningful things to do. :)

Good job on the plant, Magpie!

Maybe I'll stick my head in here tomorrow too.

Have fun, Minters!!

Yep. The gang at the Mint isn't so much anymore. But, these things have their ebbs and flows. Usually in the Winter we have better attendance. Except for Mabs. It will be Summer for him then.

Someday will find you.

Re: QM - The 80's

Deeg!!!!!   Congrats on the (still mostly, but not for so much longer) little one!

What Em says is true, while Mint isn't rock'n like the 'ole days' the spirit is most certainly still here all lurklylike.  I no longer have much opportunity to post here during work hours but I do peek in almost daily.  Can't be too far from my S'marchers, y'know?  And it was SO much fun to finally meeting Magpie last month, woot!  And Aan and Xavie!!  And seeing/meeting (being cognizant of the difference in European/American terminology here) our lovely Sahi and Libra again.  (and I should take a moment to say that Sahi was such a trooper for coming over to Libra's house (with whom I was staying, she is an amazingly wonderful host, I had an absolutely fantastic time with her and her cat Bobby is freakin' funnycute!  Gaahhh, I really need to make post about my trip!) because we totally, and totally unintentionally, put her to work!)

The long and the short of it is, I went to Europe for 2 weeks, had a bunch of fun with S'marchers, got horribly sick after I got back home, work got backlogged because of my illness and then became really busy...  and this past weekend, when I finally caught up enough to try to transfer the pics from my trip to the compy, I discover that my camera's batteries died and it don't come with a power adapter, aaarrrggghhh!  Minor setback, I'll take care of that in the next few days, right?  But then bf's car dies on Monday morning.  Car gets towed to the dealership, they can't figure out what's wrong with it, a 3 yr old car!  Got word just *this* afternoon that they can't fix it until *next* Monday and it'll be $1100 thank you very much.  But I digress...

Click on the links in my sig for some highlights of my adventures over the last couple of years...  with more pics to come!

Good to see you 'round these parts again, deegec, don't be a stranger!
