Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: New UK Cover Art for MS&T Books

Hmmm... I don't think these are anything spectacular, but I never did like the old covers for Dragonbone Chair, and Stone of Farewell (TGAT was fine).

I don't know, the artwork on Simon just seemed very cheesy old fashioned, and not in a classic way, but in a generic-bland sort of way with awkward looking artwork (mostly in Simon's face). I'm actually glad I started/found Dragonbone chair as just a coverless, brown covered hardcover in my University library. Once I later saw the artwork for it, I think I would have been much more apprehensive to start reading it.

These covers aren't anything amazing, they're definitely safe/boring/dull covers, but at least they don't have that artwork I never liked :P

Re: New UK Cover Art for MS&T Books

These new covers look pretty neat, and suggestive (friendly towards the readers imagination).

Hey all, when you say "old covers" do you mean the ones on the following page?

Since the covers are different on each book in the series, and in countries, I am interested in knowing!

I borrowed Throne of Dragonbone in a library back in 1996/1997 because of the cover of Elias holding Sorrow in front of a volcano. I thought it looked more interesting than most covers of David Eddings books. And the story about Simon turned out to be alot more immersing (than of Belgarion).

The Throne of Dragonbone is my favorite bunch of books ever. And I read it because of that cover. Then I started purchasing the whole series.

These covers are nice, but kinda dull. The Swords should be on the covers. Maybe they're on the side, I don't know.
