Re: Infinity's

No Calesta, we didn't watch that one at all..I'm guessing that's another series I should try out?

I really struggle to find shows to watcvh these days - i'm not really into the reality TV shows/competitions.

And sometimes Bones/house/CSI gross me out - I don't enjoy the blood etc too much. i'm a right wimp!

Re: Infinity's

How is it that I think I'm checking in here frequently and then all of a sudden two weeks have gone by?  My life feels out of control!!  Mostly because I have no life so how can that be??

@AJ - the Wire was amazing TV but it was all about cops and drug dealers and on HBO so it got pretty graphic with the violence/sex/language.  It might not be for you - but you should try an episode or two to make sure because it really was a great series.

David Simon's new series about New Orleans after Katrina starts on HBO next month - really looking forward to that one!

Re: Infinity's

It feels springy here at last. *passes out flowers*

We're just about to start on some renovations and such. I have a question:

I may have to get a new stove/oven. Which do you all prefer, the flat topped ones or the ones with the coils? Which is easiest to clean?

Re: Infinity's

Mine is a flat top Jen, I've had it since 1995 - that oven is better travelled than some people!

I love it. Passionately.

Because it is a flat top when things boil over I have to wipe it up there and then.

This forces me to be less of a mucky pup, because when I had a an oven with the coil rings, it embarasses me to say it, but I was a bit lax on the cleaning up of spills.

Oh, and mine is also a self cleaning oven which is  another feature I love.

Re: Infinity's

Yeah, we've had snow, too. It's pretty, but I'm sorta ready for spring. :)

Re: Infinity's

Seriously? You ought to move to Revelstoke for the spring. Yesterday was lovely and warm. It got up to 20c. I can't believe it's snowy there. :(

Re: Infinity's

We had to go out to Kanaskis for a field trip for Will.  I was dreading it because the weather was so bad in the city.  We got to the k-country turn off & the sun came out - it was nice and warm.  Today?  Feels like my house is going to blow away.  I haven't gone outside yet because I am afraid part of our chimney pipe has blown down.  Something is really banging on that side of the house and I'm afraid to look.

Re: Infinity's

Not the chimney, the downspout - wondering when it will break off & fly into someone's window.  *frets*

Re: Infinity's

Wow. That's nasty weather. It's so lovely here today. I've got all the doors open and everything. But, then, we've had an overly warm winter. I guess a warm spring shouldn't surprise me.

Re: Infinity's

thanks jen!

*sips chocolate*

Luckily Mr Calesta proved to be more handy than I gave him credit for and fixed the downspout.  Now we have some nice warm days to look forward to.

And on another happy note I finally found the Venus Fly Trap that Will has been bugging me for.  Now to find some flies!!

Re: Infinity's

We've had the most beautiful spring weather here.  So nice to have it now and not have to wait for June!!   Although I know the possibility of cold and snow exists until, well, always I guess ;)

Re: Infinity's

It's been beautiful here, too. It's lovey, but I worry about a dry summer and fires. However, that aside, I'd sure like to get my garden going. :)

Re: Infinity's

*Waves*

Glad you both have nice weather......I got snow yesterday. It was a bit strange as the weekend was t-shirt and shorts weather. Monday was warm to and so was today.

What was a bit crazy was that the power lines started arcing so the evening light was greenish - I've never seen it do that before.  It was pretty cool.
Mind you, it didn't last long as the power went off and as it was before 9pm, I got an early night for a change.

I guess every power cut has a silver lining! :D

Re: Infinity's

I should not have been commenting on our awesome spring weather.

I am sick of snow and cold temperatures and I want some warmth in my life!!!  (yes that sentence comes complete with foot stamping tantrum action)

Hopefully we are on the right track now.

But I left my son's venus fly trap outside the other day to catch some ants, forgot about it and froze it.  Now I feel like a plant murderer.

Re: Infinity's

Ouch. Poor plant.

I'm a little tired of the cold, too. I want to plant flower and plant veggies and do some landscape work (we bought an apple tree! and some other plants) but it's just too cold out there. *sigh*

I'm sure it'll warm up soon and it'll turn out to be so hot and dry that we pray for rain and cold and snow. That's just the way the weather gods roll.

Grins

I can't guess what sort of summer we'll have this year - it's been hot, it's been cold and a couple of weeks ago it snowed! I've lost two lavender plants by the looks of things

*wraps herself in the bleu, blanc, rouge*

I decided to embrace hockey fever with the rest of the province and forget the weather and gardening until the trip is over - luckily Halak and the boys have put that off a little longer for me :)

Re: Infinity's

Now the Canadiens will face the Philadelphia Flyers.  I watched them beat Boston tonight on TSN.  Still, I pick them to beat Philadelphia in 7 games.  At least they better.  After all the Montreal Canadiens are my hockey team.

P.S.  Here is a note of interest:

The Bell Centre is right behind the office building where I work.  I was able to clearly hear through the windows near my desk, the partying, which preceded each playoff game played there thus far.

Re: Infinity's

Calesta, my youngest had the same problem, Habs is his team, Crosby his hero.
He felt glad for the team, but was totally gutted when he watched the Crosby interview.

That's pretty neat Peter.

The second to last home game my eldest was downtown for a school trip getting through the traffic made him almost 2hours late - I think most of the children would have preferred the hocket game to the plays they went to see!

We've had some of the local arret signs changed to "Halak".....  :D

I like that hockey is the great leveller here, english -french, everyone is on board
