Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

"And Ministers of Grace" Review

http://www.suvudu.com/2010/03/warriors- … .html#more

Tad is a highly-intelligent man, a writer who brings that into his work. But that is not the only aspect to this new novella. And Ministers of Grace brims with vigor and excitement from beginning to end. Tad has created a very real world of conflict that in many ways mirrors our own, and through that creation Kane walks, a competent killer using all means at his disposal to complete his quest. The realities of both worlds feel real to me as I see them in our own; the science that allows Kane to transform his body into a killing machine was fascinating to behold and just plain cool.

Re: "And Ministers of Grace" Review

I have my copy of WARRIORS on order and can't wait to read it! All these reviews are really making me impatient for my copy :)

Olaf, thank you very much for posting these (this one and the other recent reviews). Not only do we enjoy seeing them, but it's very helpful to me to make sure I haven't missed one. I'm trying to keep up with all the latest -- between what you're posting, what Deb's tweeting & sending me, and what I'm catching with my own searches -- but the last couple of weeks have been pretty busy site-wise! I'll catch up soonish (hopefully more soonish than laterish!) Will be posting several more to the site this evening barring any unforeseen interruptions or other delays....

And Ministers of Grace by Tad Williams is a planet-hopping SF story focusing on a badass cybernetic warrior and is pretty ruthless, with Williams unexpectedly channelling Richard Morgan and doing it very well.

Re: "And Ministers of Grace" Review

I cannot read the phrase without hearing my dad's voice reciting the entire quote - "Angels and ministers of grace defend us!" when the kids did something unusual, like emptying the dishwasher without being prompted...

(link via deborah's twitter)

on a personal note, I just finished tad's story this morning and i thought it was great! it does feel like part of a bigger story and there are hints of fascinating backstory that i am dying to learn more about. hope tad will have time and opportunity to write more in that universe!
