Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

QM - Lithium

I'm so happy 'cause today
I found my friends
They're in my head
I'm so ugly, that's okay
'Cause so are you
Broke our mirrors
Sunday morning is everyday
For all I care
And I'm not scared
Light my candles, in a daze
'Cause I've found God

The new mint, mysterious and mystical, is whatever you want it to be. It's like the matrix. Only with slightly less slavery...

Some plants have been repotted, and certain 51% formed plants have just become at least 60% formed.

Re: QM - Lithium

Best friend was here all weekend again - went sledging again, but "Breakneck Hill" was covered in more ice than snow, which combined with the molehills and steep slope led to quite a few crashes.

Re: QM - Lithium

Spent my time gaming yesterday. Nice cooperative game about Camelot and the knight of the round table. We even won. Then played "Boonanza", a cardgame where you have to grow beans and sell them to earn coins that will win you the game. Liked both a lot.

And then in the evening Ivo and I had dinner with xavie and Aan and listened to Aan talk about his holidays in Australia and New Zealand. So now I'm waiting for Ivo to make up his mind on whether he'll join me or not.

And then this morning I've been a good girl and spent all morning studying, like I should.

Re: QM - Lithium

I'm beginning to find that sales training impossibly funny. The trainer keeps getting side-tracked and we end up talking about esoteric topics most of the time. And by now, I can't help muttering sarcastic comments any more.
Today, we were calculating our "birth colour", which is supposed to tell us something about our personality. And I don't really think I'm so altruistic and over-helpful as my colour signifies. So, just for fun, I repeated the calculations with my birth date as it would be written in the calendar I made up for a story, and the colour I got then made much more sense.

And now I find this funny enough that I absolutely have to make myself such a made-up calendar for this year.

Re: QM - Lithium

A birth colour in a sales course? Kinda esoteric...

Re: QM - Lithium

Totally. And he talks about that kind of stuff all the time.
It would be unbearable without knitting or stories to concentrate on.

I made a calendar for 2010, or as the Kivailo would call it, Year 1906 of the Known Time. Too bad it only starts on March 20th - making one for the remaining two months is too much work now.

But I think I'll try to make one for my birth-year/season, just to find out on which day of the week I'm born, according to that calendar.

Re: QM - Lithium

OK, wasn't nearly as much work as I thought it'd be (though it's rather difficult to confirm when exactly the winter solstice 1986 was) - apparently I was born on an Air day. Not that knowing that is any use at all.

Trying to make decisions about an Australia holiday. The cost of it all doesn't make it any easier to decide.
Is Ivo coming or not? Are we doing hotels/hostels/camper? How long? *dizzy*

That's a lot still to plan!

My best friend and one of my brothers both want to go to Castlefest, and last week we decided to just go ahead with planning, and worry about getting time off later. There's still a chance I'll have to cancel everything if I end up with a boss who doesn't want to give me a few days off, but I'll just hope for the best.
