Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - The Pine Forest

It's really, really hard not to call my brother if he's already made arrangements for his transport to the festival this weekend. But I promised Ivo (and myself) that for once I would make him call me if he wants to hitch a ride. (He already knows I'm going by car and that I have a seat available.)

It is difficult, Sahi. But, hang in there. If he misses his ride, he'll learn.

My inbox hates me.

Someday will find you.

Trouble is I'll feel guilty if he does miss his ride. Silly, I know, but still true.

Now you know what it feels like (kinda) to have kids.

Keep reminding yourself that you are helping him become a better adult by making him take care of his own stuff. Sister won't be around always to look after him.

*is sick*

i managed to catch a cold and a gastric flu. blergh. and i had to wait an hour just to get a sick note, didn't want to wait until the doctor had time to actually see me. the doctors i usually go to are on holiday, and i don't like the stand-in. i so don't want to be sick
on top of that, bf's mother is getting worse. tough situation, i'm torn between relieve and feeling sorry(for bf, mostly)

am watching "Sweeny Todd" now, Alan Rickman singing is making me feel slightly better (and since i can't do anything else..)

*wanders in*
I'm tired. And I don't want to see another goddamn grape ivy. There are still some to be repotted and staked tomorrow, unfortunately - we would have finished with them today if the new boss hadn't wanted an inventory of the houseplants (which would be fun if those greenhouses wouldn't be such a mess, with pot sizes all mixed up and plants grown together into a tangled mass where you can only guess how many we might have. And we have far too many begonias.)

Sorry to hear that. :( Being sick is no fun - I ate some bad food last week, so the memories are still fresh.

Oh, I don't think he's silly - I wish he'd show up in the greenhouses more often, and actually talk to people other than the S.O.B., but apart from that... inventory was a good idea, I just wish I could have finished the grape ivies first.

I so understand this.... keep wanting to smack my sister into activeness...

She moving to the UK (London), because of her study.... doesn't have a house yet, doesn't have a job yet, doesn't do anything... and today (while visiting parents) she actually had the nerve to get angry when my mum said they weren't going to book and pay the coming weekend in London unless my siss had made some actual meetings with possible flat-shares... And she is a 30-year old....
I've offered her a job (okay not much pay, but it's a start!) at one of the shops from my company... she actually got mad at me for suggesting it....
And still I keep feeling guilty for not helping her more, or pushing or whatever... very frustrating...

Re: QM - The Pine Forest

phew, the major part is done, just vaccuming left to do. my piles of books on and next to the shelves are getting ridiculous. i shall post a picture once i'm done cleaning.
i seriously need to throw some out and get at least one new shelve. my room will be cramped then, but i can't take it much longer to have the booksies in piles
have to wait till october though, september i'll make a trip to germany and october will bring me holiday money(i agreed to get it in october not in july, so i get the full amount and not just the aliquot part for 2 months) anyways
