Re: QM - The Pine Forest
And by October, life should be just fine over here. Hate the hurricane season mess, though, all the watching and worrying.

Re: QM - The Pine Forest
The tropics have been very quiet this season. Usually, have two or three scares by now. There's one that being tracked off the cape verde islands (where the really bad stuff comes from), but it's so far out that it is difficult to make any kind of accurate forecast.
Someday will find you.

Re: QM - The Pine Forest
Last year we finally went to Cancun - offseason in September - and spent most of it watching Hurricane Ike sweep on by. We still sat out and read our books, even if we only had one day of sun.

Re: QM - The Pine Forest
*sits at compy*
Have just been bothering the neighbours with my frantic rehearsing of the %#@$@%#$@ flute... I just don't see why I should so much trouble with playing an instrument that is basically the same as the whistles I can play, excepting the direction of the fingers and the weird blow-hole (this is not meant as offending, I just don't know (nor care for) the correct term in english)... All the notes up to and until E are fine.... but everything lower is just an impossibility... ACK! It's so frustrating!!!!
And the darned thing is that the whole purpose of my practising today was to get some tunes memorized on the whistle for folkwoods... cause I have this terrified feeling that Sahi's brother is practising his fingers off.... Of course once I picked up that silly flute-thing I completely lost track of time and now have no more time to do the memorizing nor finding of low whistle/tinwhistle tunes... at least not without forcing my neighbours to call the police due to keeping out of their sleep... GAH!
*apologizing for not entering this into the dread-thread...*
'kay... *huggles mint*

Maen!
Got about an hour left before I get on the bus to Puckapunyal. There I get to call in artillery.
I love this job!

Yer makin' me hungry! At the local movie theater (3 blocks away) they have a movie feast on Mon and Tues with the real-life Julie. I love the Alamo Drafthouse (www.drafthouse.com)!

Re: QM - The Pine Forest
Sometimes I hate my mother. The dear woman is on summer holidays (nine weeks, so it's not like she needs all the time she can get to relax), she knows that I'm tired and hungry when I come home from work, she knows that the fridge is nearly empty. There's litterally nothing that would make a satisfying dinner, since she stole my zucchini yesterday, and I can't eat sausages without some vegetables. And yes, there are spaghetti, and there is also a jar of pesto - "best before: 01/14/2009". No thanks. And now it's raining, too, so I really don't want to go shopping. And my dear mother has, apparently, gone to Ikea, and I have no idea when she will be back.

Re: QM - The Pine Forest
On the other hand, my instructor called me into the office today to ask me if I knew some plant the new boss was thinking about buying, and while I didn't know it either, I promised to do some research (which is more or less finished now), so hopefully I will make a good impression on him.
