Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Wow, congrats!

I think I'll go curl up in bed with a book for a couple of hours. I'm still too grumpy to do anything useful, although I'm no longer plotting murder.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Gah! So I'm supposed to type the list of the plants we sell. Only... the people who know what plants we have are at school. I'm at home. And I tried to call them and they're not answering. And I think I will now simply go to bed.

Hey Em, I was wondering about you hearing cicadas the other day, and then I heard them singing this morning.  Nothing on par with the 17 year brood from a few years ago, though!

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Sent the laptop back to Dell for them to replace the hard drive. Got the laptop back. Plugged it in. Same error. According to the "supervisor":

"Tech did tell me about the concern. They did not replace the hard drive."

Huh?

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

The girl who had the plant list got locked out of her dorm, which is why she couldn't answer her phone. She called me just when I was about to turn off the light.
So I got up even earlier to type that stupid list. *yawn*

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

First day of Flower Festival is over for me (I wasn't even there officially, I only helped to finish our stall and then hung around in the hope of meeting the examiners (who don't actually get to grade our projects, but still wanted to look at it) - there was one person I think might have been one but I'm not sure). Tomorrow I'll have to sell plants from about 9 AM to 7 PM, and then still "clean up". Which will take hours. Gods, how I hate the headmaster with his great big self-satisfied grin.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

BF and i had lunch with my mum, which was nice. afterwards we went to a book-fleamarket, which was even nicer(4 books for 6 €). and then i went to a second-hand bookshop that is clearing the store for new stock, therefore they're giving away all the booksies for NOUGHT. there i found Spellsinger book 3 and 4, which are out of print in both german and english editions and i wanted to read them for ages.*glees*
and they continue to give away books till thursday, so i'll drop by there after work on monday

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

i was just lucky, colleague A. read about it in the newspaper and called me, and i happened to be nearby anyways(it's just around the corner of the restaurant where we had dinner on the first night of the vienna-m00t)

Ah, DoOF- you know the real reason why i haven't got it yet? not because i didn't order it early enough, but because the UK publishing date is beginning of july. d'oh. and i have to order from the UK, because the accounts with the US publishers are not set up yet. gah. next week, then:)

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Hi Em! It's going pretty well. I should clean a little, too. I desperately need to do laundry. Sheets! I really need clean sheets.

I'm feeling sort of nappish, though.
