Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

*peeks in*

Sitting around at school, waiting for teachers to turn up. The letter said to come between 8 and 9, but since the boarding school kids must still find their rooms and such, I don't expect any teacher to show up until 10 or so.
So far, only about five people have arrived.

And I was the only one who got the computer to work, mwahahaha!

*wavies*

Had a good day today. Played with the camera, saw the new terminator movie and hung out with an old mate from school.

And this week is a four day work week! Yay!

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Yay to four day weeks! I'm still pondering whether I should take the afternoon off to enjoy the good weather or not.

I vote yes. Getting outside in good weather is one of the simplest joys in life.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Already back from school.
Today was more or less just info-day, about when we will have which exams, and work on our project and stuff (I'm finally getting a somewhat clearer idea about what this project thing might be), and then we were sent home "to aquire the knowledge we need for our goals (which we had written down earlier)". Because in these three weeks we will learn to be oh-so-independent, and to learn without having things shoved down our throats by the teachers.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Ahh, the 'adult learning environment' catchphrase :P

All that generally means is that life goes on the same as usual, it's just that the teachers now blame you when things go wrong ;)

</unwarranted cynicism >

Anywho, I'm off to bed now. Later mint!

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Heh, I pretty much started the day by telling the headmaster the whole idea was stupid - that if those kids haven't learned to take responsibility for themselves by now, they won't learn in three weeks.

Was walking in the lobby this morning, caught a glimpse of something scuttling outta my way. It was a fiddler crab.

Too cute!

Normally, I would probably agree, but right now that just reminds me of the spider attack on Friday night.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

I know. But that doesn't make them any less scary.

In other news: I'm less nervous about the project now (but only a little) and instead panicking about the practical exams (next Wednesday) - I still have no practical knowledge in landscape gardening whatsoever. Must hunt down the teacher who sets the exam and see if she'll tell me what sort of things we might have to do so that maybe I can practise (also, I need to show one classmate how to take cuttings, since she's never done that, and it's likely to come up in the exam).

I nearly forgot to include the Cultivation Descriptions in my journal. I've written them on the computer, and still need to handwrite them. Gah.

I should feed my brother. And continue writing. Just one (of five) Cultivation Descriptions written, and my hand already hurts horribly. *shakes hand wildly*

Gah! Printed over 500 client records, not in alpha order! How can I find anything.

Toss out this lot and start over. *sigh*
