Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - The pink stables

Lazy once again. Oh well, I'll stop working on the plant database after dinner and write that CV. Can't take long, I haven't really done that much yet.

Gmaen, yer blueness.

I've been working on my CV as well, Magpie. It isn't an easy thing to do.

Hi Em!

I should be working on the really boring finish work on my jacket, but I don't feel like it.  Instead, I think I'll make my 6th (or 7th?) attempt at sock knitting.

G'maen ladies!

I saw my friends baby last night, and she was unbearably beautiful. I so want one!

They're quite easy to obtain, Marian! :oP

My sister and I get together once a week. I knit (I'm working on a scarf) and she crochets. My knitting's still wobbly.

Hi Marian!

If my socks come out wobbly, would it affect my walking?

:D No, it'll just make your aura shinier!

Did you hear my news? I'm coming to San Jose!

Yes, I saw!  WOOT!  Though, you know I'll smack you silly if you think I'd let you camp.  You're welcome to room with me, if you want.

Re: QM - The pink stables

Thanks, cyan! Gigi offered to let me crash in her room, too, though if your offer actually includes a bed... Hmm. I would want to pay a share of the room, too, if so, even if it meant owing money after the convention. Though I probably still owe you money from last time! I at least owe you a couple of rounds of highballs!

*happy glow* I'm so happy I get to go. I was already feeling so left out at the idea of not being there this year.

'Course it'd include a bed, silly!  I imagine Libra will be rooming with me too, assuming her plans haven't changed.  She and I can double up, if necessary, we've done it before, and I'll have my mouthguard by then so my teeth grinding won't keep ya'll up.  ;-)

Re: QM - The pink stables

*mumblegrumble*

This would be going quicker if I still remembered how to write a CV. And if I had kept the one I wrote when I applied for the apprenticeship.

Re: QM - The pink stables

Thanks, cyan. I am about to burst with happiness. *tries not to cry*

Did Libra decide not to bring her man along?

Where is Libra anyway? I haven't seen her around here in ages. (I know, I'm one to talk.)

@Em, how are your girls doing?

@Magpie, when I was writing mine, I found a lot of good examples online by doing a google search for "resume template." I guess CVs might be a little different, but I bet you could find some help out there anyway.

Heh, what do you think I did? It was googling or digging around for my secondary school german textbook.

I'm more or less finished, but kind of demotivated because it looks so very short. (For the apprenticeship, they wanted a handwritten one, so it wasn't so noticeable).
Also, I really must get my documents in order. I can't find a thing.

I haven't caught up with Libra in weeks, we keep missing each other.  And while there was discussion about her bf visiting too, it was for the SF touristy part, not actually attending WFC.

My girls are doing fine, Marian. Alexandra's between projects (finished up "Dear John"), but something will come along.

Sounds good. We'll have a blast. :)

Okay, I guess I should get off the computer and go do something productive with my day.

See you later!

I wonder why they want a CV for applying for the exam anyway...

To make sure that you've completed all the requirements for sitting for the exam?
