G'maen, Mint!
I had a huge plate of hash browns for breakfast, and that means I am extra-motivated to get to the gym today!
Hope you're all doing well out there.

Compared to the book, Magpie, or on its own?

*pouncyhuggles Marian*
Compared to the book - the friend I went with and I love it a lot. I suppose the one good thing that can be said is that it was so different that it doesn't mess up the way I picture things.
Also, riding the bike was lovely.

Yeah, Magpie. The movie is getting panned, across the board. I don't even want to go see it in the movie house, and I have free tickets (not to Inkheart, to the theater)!
Someday will find you.

It's good you had a nice time out, anyway!
I didn't go see the Golden Compass for that reason. The trailers showed Lyra as anything but the grubby, dirty child she starts out as, and I thought if it's already that far off, I'm not even going to bother watching the whole movie.
Okay, I'm off to the gym.
Have a good one!

*waves bye to Marian*
It was fun to meet L. again, though, and fun to complain about the movie - there were very few people, so we picked seats far away from the others so we could talk without bothering them.
Elinor riding a motorbike, though, that was so wrong it was good again.

I've got new, stronger glasses - made me quite dizzy, being able to see so clearly. And now I have to take them off, I'm getting a headache.

Re: QM - The Genisis X is leaving Mint
I have this lamp my father carved from a hollow tree-trunk (by making lots of holes in it, so light can shine through). When I "adopted" it when the house was sold, Mama told me that now I could continue carving, and I said I'd never do that (I remember bits of wood and broken knives on the living room floor, which dearest Papa never cleaned up). Well, and today, I decided to take out my knife to get rid of Gandalf's scratch marks... and before I knew it, my room was just as much a mess as our living room used to be...

Ah, but messes you have made yourself are so much less annoying to clean up. (And also if they are caused by making pretty stuff, that makes it a lot more rewarding.)

The problem is mostly that I know I'm pretty similar to Papa in many ways, and I always let my room become messy anyway... and that means there are pretty good chances I'll start leaving those bits of wood just like he did, thinking that I'll continue working tomorrow anyway so I might as well clean up then...

Re: QM - The Genisis X is leaving Mint
Maybe next time you can put newspapers (or the like) on the floor so you can just pick those up and let the chips slide in the waste bin. That way, cleaning up is easy. :)

I am!
I took my Eee to bed so I could finish what I was doing before going to sleep. However, I think sleep is now winning...
