Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

I slept from 7 PM to 10:30 AM! OK, I was awake for a couple of hours around midnight, so I "only" slept for about 12 hours.

*agrees with Mabs* Obviously, Mags, you needed it.

Off to do some Christmas shopping and then I'm spending the day studying and scanning. My parents' Christmas gift is coming along well. And I'm having fun giggling over the old pictures. Looking at these old photos, well, as husband would say "it explains a lot"!

Someday will find you.

When you're done with your room, can you clean my workroom?  It's a mess too.

Re: QM - an underground lair where....

I've decided I don't have the strength for Christmas shopping. I'll just have to hope that the people I care about will know I do care about them even if they don't get a present, and the ones I don't care about... well.

I can't even be bothered to replace the notebook I filled up last night. I've decided to use an old, empty exercise book and make a nice cover for it out of some spare cardboard and coloured paper.

I'm not doing anything for Christmas.  I've become rather bahhumbugish over the years.

Re: QM - an underground lair where....

I truly believe people should celebrate Christmas the way that feels right to them, not to live up to other's expectations.

I'm rather concerned, tho'. Today's supposed to be the biggest shopping day of the year; it is crowded out there, but not that crowded. And stores are deeply discounting. What does that mean for the economy?

Someday will find you.

Re: QM - an underground lair where....

Magpie, it is the first Christmas after your parents' split. Everyone who loves you will understand.

Smarch Christmas cards are a wonderful thing. I am happy you (and everyone else) participated this year!!!! *fidgets, waiting for the postman to come*

Re: QM - an underground lair where....

I think Christmas is a nice thing. I'm just objecting to the whole "have to" - have to buy stuff, have to give people presents, have to have a good time...

Smarch cards are nice, though, because I don't have to.

I got rid of the "have tos" a long time ago, now my list consists of "want tos." I love getting together with family and friends.
