Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Post the recipe in the 'pie (Mycanid: Rhubarb Pie is a board in the Neighborhood where people share recipes). It's right next to the JB Factory of Doom!

The rhubarb pie near the JB factory of Doom eh? *heh heh*

Sounds like part of a solution to the clue card game:

Em with the rhubarb pie near the Factory of Doom!

Okay, okay ... I'm just carrying on here ... don't mind me. :D

Yeah, well ... I am typing on a laptop ... so ruining the keyboards could spell ruining my machine. ;)

Sokay though ... I see you all are good folk. :)

He used the maid to kill someone???

*bounces back in*

I think I liked last year's Christmas concert better, but it was nice.

The choir practise and concerts are always at the Croatian Culture Club, and today Mama and the other people from the choir were more or less adopted as Honorary Croatians.
And I heard "Jingle Bells" in Croatian. *giggles and sings* Zvonici, zvonici... er... I don't remember the rest.

What sort of mushrooms did you use? Portabella? Shitake?

Usually creminis.  If just for ourselves, we'll get nice big portabellas.  The cheese mixture we use depends on what's in the fridge.  I'm particularly fond of goat cheese on the portabellas with some fresh herbs.

Goat cheese and herbs with portabella is a STUPENDOUS combo!

I like goat cheese myself ... is this home made stuff?

I better get one of those floppy, waterproof external keyboards to hook up to my laptop in advance next time. ;)

Well ... I live out in the wilderness practically ... way out. I have friends nearby who raise goats and chickens and horses, etc.

Anyway ... they make home made goat cheese and it is GREAT. :)

Oh,  yes. We were having an off-color conversation about what you could do with hamsters, adorned with feathers.

EDITED 'cause what I meant was some of us laughed so hard we peed our pants.

Better than nothing, I suppose. Trader Joe's DOES have a good selection of not so easy to find consolations and such - often stuff from other countries.

S'okay about the keyboards ... not quite what I meant :)

I think I learned a German version of Jingle Bells once (I'm Austrian). So why shouldn't there be a Croatian one?

I was also much amused when they announced "a traditional Croatian christmas carol" - which turned out to be "Silent Night" (written by an Austrian).
