Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

*pouts* Where is everybody? I'm bored.

I'm burning through my work way too fast again. Despite having a long list, some of it has to wait, and some of it I have no idea how to do. And all the rest is finished. :(

I'm afraid I'll be sent home next week. And my boss won't like it one bit.

*wanders in*

I think I did well enough on the arboriculture test, despite feeling rather tired and achy. The only thing I could't remember clearly was was the propagation of raspberries by root cuttings.

And back to class.

And after school, to the bookshop! Time to read again!

Re: QM - The Room with a View

I wanted to do some spellchecking today, but my laptop didn't have a Dutch spellchecker yet. Fortunately I did bring a small book. :) Now I've downloaded a spellchecker, so hopefully tonight I'll be able to check it.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Three more hours.

I've found myself another document to change, but there's a lot of info missing from it and I know next to nothing about it. And of course the person I could ask about it isn't in his chair.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Gah, I've finally figured out the design and thought I'd change the code as well (as it needed changing after changing the desing). And in comes the next massive hurdle. There's this huge shell script to start the application apparently. And I just can't read it, and therefor have no idea how it works. So I can't test what I've just built.

Good news is that now I have a temporary partial so I can get rid of this nasty false tooth I've been wearing.

*flops down*

Hmpf-bah. Took me ages to pay a few stupid bills, and then I felt too hot and uncomfortable in the bookshop (I hate having hot feet - I think next time I'll bring a pair of slippers and take off my shoes in the shop! I actually walked through Ikea barefooted once.)'

Re: QM - The Room with a View

I'm going to the optometrist tomorrow, so I'll miss the landscape gardening test. And of course, knowing this, I'm slacking off again.

Landscape gardening test? I don't know how I would ever take one of those with a straight face.

Bring me a shrubbery!!!!

Nob shrubberies on that test, though. Only lawns. *yawns*

*waves hello*

I have a nanny interview on Saturday! Two children, baby on way, 11-5 (which would be perfect), and they live about five minutes from my place.

I have a good feeling about it!

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Pffff... the OUSG talks and talks and talks.... and I don't feel like listening to anyone today.

*ponders*
I'd have to leave halfway through the first lesson tomorrow, so I won't even bother going to school in the morning. I suppose I have to go to the afternoon lessons, though.
