Well there will be if you and your colleague dress up as Cylons!

We could go there as ourselves and simply state that we are the latest Cylon Android models. That would work!

Hopefully, you should see me there Sahi. My colleagues are balking at the membership prices, but I still have plans to get a membership, though I have not, as of yet. Of course, if I could pay a general admission price at the door, that would be better. Either way, I am, as of this moment, anticipating being at the Palais des Congres. (It is right inside Place D'Armes Metro station.)

Re: Canadian Smarchmoot: Aug 6-10 2009, WorldCon, Montréal
I'm sorry to say that I prolly won't be there. Cause it's a long, long journey. And I figure most smarchers will go to World Fantasy in San Jose (it being in Tad's back garden and all).
So I'm planning to do the coast to coast (in the UK) next year. And hopefully I'll convince Ivo of joining me in Australia.

*bumpety bump*
I know Christmas etc is just a bink away....But. Is anyone thinking this one over?
It's central to the city (cafe's in the Old Port are just a slight walk away! Chinatown is even closer!!)
It's in August (no snow! In fact, heat!!)
Neil Gaiman is Guest of Honour...(I know, it's not Tad, but hey! possibly the next best thing!)

Oh!
Dangit.
I can't afford WFC and Worldcon next year. And especially not if I want to go to Worldcon '10 in Melbourne.

Aw, man. I would love to go. Montreal is definitely on my life-list, and as Canadian cities go, pretty convenient to Richmond. But I am barely going to be able to swing San Jose as is.
(And Australia is on my wish-list, too....)

You should come Marian. Montreal is Canada's most unique and wondrous city. I should know, I have lived in this city all my life and I could not see myself living anywhere else. Nor would I want to. In addition AJ is right, August in Montreal is hot and humid and the venue of the convention is situated right next to Chinatown and Old Montreal. Plus Ralph Bakshi, who did the original film version of Lord of the Rings will be there too!

And it's in the Palais, I've wanted to have an excuse to go in there for years!
