election chatter
a topic to talk about the election without an insulting subject name...

Re: election chatter
I voted. Evidently, the precinct I live in is very small. I breezed right in, drawing dirty looks from the people who had been standing there for hours.
Someday will find you.

Re: election chatter
I'm going to be watching the results come in very closely from work, but I expect it to be in the bag by the time I get home. And then, hopefully, a celebration, because there are currently five Americans at home (and if Obama doesn't win, they may claim asylum).

Re: election chatter
I voted early, and the waiting since then has been agony. I know it's too early to know anything, but boy am I chomping at the bit!!!

Re: election chatter
Not much. Saw McCain giving a speech earlier. Lots of chatter about race now. Checking up on voting booth complaints, too.

Re: election chatter
I can have two computers open at my office, so which election results websites should I be watching? Got CNN open, don't know if 538 will be doing anything live...

Re: election chatter
I'm nervous, so I'm gaming instead of watching any election stuff. I keep walking around saying, "I have a bad feeling about this."
*sigh*
Good luck, southern neighbours. :)

Re: election chatter
A full 100 percent of registered voters in the village cast ballots. And the votes didn't take long to tally.
I guess not. Heh.
Still interesting that it's first time since '68 they've leaned Republican.
Wonder how many people lived there back in '68.
This report just tickles me.

Re: election chatter
Like Em, I breezed in and out. But I was about 10:30, and I was off work today.... good luck voting everyone! Don't take no for an answer, and all that.
I'm having some people over to watch results this evening. Hoping for a victory party!

I'm hoping it won't be an all-nighter, Marian. It's gonna be a close race.

Re: election chatter
Bruce Schneier will be live blogging election results as they come in over at Making Light. That's what I'll be reading for as long as I can stay awake. Plus of course Fivethirtyeight, electoral-vote, etc

Re: election chatter
getting a feeling that McCain has to win a long series of "checkpoints" throughout the night, just to stay in the race. It could be over fast.

Re: election chatter
If Indiana goes to Obama, this election is pretty much over - that's a pretty irrefutable sign that there won't be a serious McCain swing.

Re: election chatter
They're calling Kentucky for McCain, which should not be a surprise, but Indiana is see-sawing on a knife edge at present. Ooo!
