Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

If this is true...

I haven't watched the article and suspect it's a crock, but the idea that the government(s) are workign to shut down our freedom of expression and speech PLUS killing our net usage...

Re: If this is true...

Everything Alex Jones et al comes up with is either completely true or full of crap and on most occasions I don't have the time to try to figure out which it is.

Let's see...

-Who benefits by us 'knowing' that They want the internet shut down or radically changed?

-Who benefits by shutting down or radically changing the internet?

-What actions occur or are expected to occur amongst the populace as such 'information' is 'leaked'?

-Who benefits by gathering such information? Blah, Blah, Blah...

It's no news that they want control of the web, and no, it has nothing to do with terrorists.

There have been a lot of things dumped out onto the web lately that have that fancy psyop smell. I can think of three that have terminal dates of 2012. End of the web, start of the NUA, something neo-con driven... darn I can't recall that one. Oh, there was one that brought up human RFID chipping by 2012 and another with a planned pandemic. *thinks* I recall something 2012 about the environment, too, along the lines of "if we don't change NOW then with our grim projections by the time we hit 2012 we may be in for the biggest enviro disaster..." It just seems odd to me that that we have all these little things coming out all with the same date.

That, however, isn't any reason to doubt that they aren't true on some level. :)

I have Telus internet and they don't let me access any peer to peer programs anymore. They aren't overt about it. They just shut down my ability to use them. It's not a firewall issue. Telus has been caught shaping internet connections before. It's evil. Really.

I can go on about this stuff forever. But if you've found infowars and prisonplanet, then you can go from there. He lays it all out and you can dig through to the pithy bits in the middle. :) If there are any, that is. Me, I just can't believe too much of it. There are just too many angles to peek at. Just take a look at what Jones says about 9/11. Gah. The pain.

Re: If this is true...

By the way...  Did you hear...

Tom Delay had a visit from a group of Men in Black who said that everybody last spotted in your favorite restaurant has an ongoing blood-feud with the cast of Saturday Night Live.

and

Newt Gingrich had a visit from Bill Gates who said that a mutant sewer creature who escaped alive from the Vatican is secretly feeding false information to the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

just thought you should know

Re: If this is true...

Important.  Thanks for letting us know. But if it isn't put out there by Alex "Tinfoil Hat" Jones, then it isn't real.:)

lol!  http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/ … nt-decides

Conspiracy theories are a pet fun thing I love to play with. I'm way too skeptical to believe, but I find them fun, like urban legends. There's a really fun one that's circulating... Did I mention this one already? This is my favourite. Yup, I mentioned it. It's the planned pandemic. Dude, this one is going to SUCK. Because they have learned how to target people based on genetics, so the plague will only take out the unwanted folk in the world, you know, the people who aren't white. *rolls eyes* Try telling this one to a person and keeping a straight face. It's not possible. It's a 2012 one, too. Oh, it's done by the Illuminati. My recommendation is to go and get genetic testing to make sure you don't have any unwanted dna in there somewhere. *g* It's not quite as believable as Y2K was, but it is a good one to pass around, what with having a terminal date and all. I can't provide linkies because it's all rumour. Of course.

My second favourite are the JFK ones, because they are so hopeless.

My third favourite are the 9/11 ones because they are so blatantly wrong. The 9/11 truthiness movement is just batsh*t.

My fourth is aliens because there is just so much creativity in the subculture and you gotta respect that.

The fun with conspiracy theories is trying to figure out what the purpose is. What is the point of believing that Bush planned and executed 9/11 using remote controlled planes and demolition explosives? Who comes up with this stuff? Why? Is it something that just spun of off 9/11 confusion and half-truths or is it deliberately out there to misdirect people (politics) or is it just that so many people need something to believe and Bush is easy to demonize or... You see? You can just go on and on. I love this stuff. Like I said, I can go on for *forever*. *g*

Ya know, Xeno, I have never actually heard any Men in Black theories. They must be out of style or something. Let's see. How to explain that... Ah! Got it. The MiB are real, you see. But, to throw everybody off their trail they get the MSM to make a movie about them that is just silly enough that people can't believe in MiB anymore without sounding stupid. Henceforth their (very real) activities are covered by an aura of "I just can't believe in it since Will Smith played a MiB Character." Obviously perpetuated by some Shadowy Government Agency. It's a cover-up, I tell ya. :D

Mwa! These are great!

Is there a Conspiracy Theory Generator site anywhere yet? You know, something like the Surrealist Quote Generator but using current catch-phrases, pop culture stuff, and names-in-the-news ala above?

If not, I'd be surprised.

And if not, we should make one. ;)
