Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

No, you don't have to, I was just wondering. Mostly cause I was wondering what to wear myself. I think I'll just go for jeans then. :)

Re: For the dancing Dutchies (and other mad travelers)

*pouts* And then the dancing was over again. That was once again one day that was WAAAAAYY too short. No matter how tired I was when I got home. :)

Lots of new dances like the Rondo (some very fast row dance that I can't quite remember), the Querenta (from Italy, that was taught to us by the Italian band that played at the ball) and a Gigo (although I have no idea how to spell that), also from Italy.

And the Mazurka is way hard!

*post hijacking*

I can actually play "The foggy dew" with decorations and all and it sound great and I feel great and I will have to do more whistling!!!

Sahi, if you look on youtube and then search for ryan dunst the first recording you see is of lesson one of the tinwhistle.... you can sooooo do this!!! It's an amazingly good way of starting the tinwhistle.. He is very good at explaining and the first lesson is really getting a start of the notes and the finger placing....

I don't know if you have one, but if not, I have two D whistles and I will give you one of mine.... they're really easy to get going with.... and it will be a super-good way of starting wood instruments... before trying out the recorder!! Recorder will be much easier after you've tried  the tinwhistle....

Oh and I looooove the low whistle... the sound is sooooo gorgeous.... this is what I learned to play today:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuoOTmCjw7Q

I takes a while, without seeing the notes and just re-playing what I hear, but it's making so much sense!!!

No I do not have a tin whistle. I only have that recorder we bought on Folkwoods two years ago. (And I actually called the music school last week, only they were closed for the holidays.)

Yay!! Good for you! Too bad they were closed though.... but I'll definitely give you my (never used I'm afraid) second tinwhistle if you want!
