bruno's the boar,right?
yes. He's still a good idea - got a few good giggles out of that - I just wonder why he'd be called that.
Also, the name reminds me of one ex-classmate's dog, and another ex-classmate - a male ex-classmate - squealing "oooh, Bruno is sooo cuuuuuute!!!" about once every day.

i thought about that...maybe she had a friend who she promised to name one character after:D
or maybe it's because "bruno" means "brown" and he's brown...
anyways...did you cry?

Re: What Are You Reading Now, Hmmmmm?
at the end, no - but there are very, very few authors who manage that (or perhaps it's just because I've known their characters longer - Tad and Harry Potter, mainly). Somewhere in the middle, though (no spoilers ;) ) I felt more like it.

"Kushiel's Justice" Jaqueline Carey
If you all have NOT been reading this series, you need to. Probably some of the most refreshing reading I've done in a long time! And I know at least 3 smutty sisters that would enjoy it for other reasons, and just about anybody else around here...an no it's not ALL smut, but the main character in the first 3 books is a Courtesan so theres a fair amount of smut. It's all balanced out by humor, romance, politics, intrigue, action etc...pretty well has everything in the right doses. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll wonder why you get that tingly feeling and more importantly, you'll wonder what happens next.
Next on my list: "Name of the Wind" Patrick Rothfuss > I'm trusting those here who say its good! "Captain Alastride" Arturo-Perez Reverte "The Flanders Panel" Arturo-Perez Reverte > swashbuckling action with intrigue and mystery...8)

Re: What Are You Reading Now, Hmmmmm?
Just finished David Bilsborough's The Wanderer's Tale. . .
Two thumbs WAY down for this book, unfortunately.
An odd blend of The Fellowship of the Ring, The Sword of Shannara, and various Forgotten Realms books from the late 80s, Bilsborough's The Wanderer's Tale is YA through and through. Pitched to the Paolini crowd, I sincerely believe that this debut has the potential to be a bestseller. But pitched to well-read fans and aficionados of the genre, this book falls short on basically every level.
To say that this novel is overwritten would be the understatement of the year. Cutting 25% to 30% of it would get rid of a good chunk of the bloated prose and speed up the pace which leaves a lot to be desired. There seems to be at least one adverb per sentence -- I kid you not!
Overwritten, overlong, overhyped. . .

I'm so liking The Time Travelers' Wife. Imagine, meeting your future spouse (who hasn't met you yet), and telling him lots of stuff he told you in the past (when he was older and time-traveling to your younger self).
And you think YOU have problems knowing what day it is!
I like the way she compares herself to whalers' wives -- watching (from the roofs of houses) and waiting for them to come home from the sea.

Recently "discovered" the song of ice and fire series by george r.r. martin, apparently after everyone else. Unfortunately, I thought the series were finished (that it was just four books), because I've basically sworn never to get hooked on a series which has lots of books still remaining to be written... I mean, you can trust Tad, but that's about the only one... Anyway, now I'm halfway through book 4, I'm hooked, and I HATE that it'll be years and years until it's finished! Aaaarrrgh!! *bangs her head against a wall in frustration*

Idun is actually a goddess in viking mythology, she provides golden apples that give eternal life...

Found this description, which is quite accurate...: Mrs BRAGI and the Nordic Goddess of Spring, Youth and Immortality. She's always fending off muggers as she carries the basket containing the Golden Apples of Immortality. When the Gods are feeling a bit past it, one nibble is all it takes to put a spring in their step.

I've been looking at it last time I was in the bookshop, wondering if I should... but I had already used up my book-budget. Well, next time...

Finished The Bonehunters. Great book, with an ending that promises a lot to come in Reapers Gale. Glad to be back in the Letherii Empire.
I'm reading Darkness Descending, second book in the Darkness series, by Harry Turtledove. Its a fantasy series thats an parallels World War 2, except in a fantasy world.
