Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Yes, indeed, you should see my brother.

I mean - did I say he's my brother? No, no, I meant this person I've never ever met, no, have no idea who he is...

Pick it up at lunch, do it... Then you have it and you don't have to wait any longer.

Ooooh, my copy of Rite has arrived.  Should I drive over to the bookstore to pick it up at lunch or wait 'til the weekend?

Hah! You think French is hard to learn? Try learning Dutch! Your language is at least mostly regular and logical... ;) (Even though I only speak a smattering of it.)

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

Somehow miraculously the book lay on my doorstep yester morning.

What a beautiful edition, what a beautiful book!

I've not read half as much as I liked to yet

*eyes the kids reproachfully*

and it'll make these last weeks of wait for Shadowplay so much easier to bear...

*is still delighted*

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I was unfortunately not able to order a copy of Rite, and so can't get it now do to limited supplies, or so I would guess. Its a shame too, I was really looking forward to all the new additions to Tad's earlier worlds, and to get a glimpse of other bits as well. What's the chance of it being republished again in the future, do you think?

So I just ordered Rite from Amazon.

For those of you who've already read it, what were your favorite stories?

Oy, that's a hard question. I'd have to think about it and reread first.

Out of curiosity, have you got it for the book or because it is clearly a genuine collectors piece (not like the special collectors edition DVDs, only 25,000 made I hasten to add)?

I got it because I wanted to collect it definitely.

I also have two of the regular trade editions.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I must admit that's why I got my first edition of Taliban's hour (sic), thought I'd continue the ridicule of my previous typo (not brain failure) when I meant Caliban.  I was hoping to get it signed when Tad came over with Shadowplay, but that didn't happen so I'll wait.
