Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Most of you guys don't understand "old" yet.

See, I knew Sammy Hagar from when he was the lead singer in Montrose.  (Another crap prototype metal band that never did much for me.)  Then he went solo, and his first solo album came out when I was in Berkeley.

That is now over 30 years ago.

Now are some of you getting a better grasp of "old".  I thought so.  Scary, isn't it?

Hah!

When I were somewhat younger, I knew a chap who for a while and a joke was going around saying "Did you know that Paul McCartney was in another band before Wings?" He stopped when a schoolteacher friend told him there were kids in her class who didn't know Paul McCartney had been in another band before Wings.

Nowadays, if they've heard of Paul McCartney at all, it's not for his music.

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Or is he the egg man?

What about the band he was in before the band he was in before wings.

I've mentioned this before but he's had no.1s over here a solo, duet, three piece, four piece and more; not bad for a scissor sisters character.  I also find it a bit weird that every time I hear a new scissor sisters song I think, Ooh, I like that, is it Elton John back on form?

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Tad, what did you think of the Academy Awards? Did you get a chance to see them? Even though I haven't yet seen The Queen or The Last King of Scotland, it was obvious Helen and Forest would win, and I'm glad they did, for they seem like awesome and nice people. And boy, for her age, Helen show knows how to look good.

I know a man who was dating Kiki Dee, or Pauline as he new her, long before the Elton single, and left her for his now wife! It would be crude of me to say why but I'm sure you can guess him being a man and all.  He doesn't really get on with his wife now and hasn't for quite a long time, but he never mentions passed opportunities, not much.

The last thing I saw her on was Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and that was about 5 years ago.  She wasn't wearing that jumpsuit/dungarees though.

Helen Mirren is a very attractive lady, though she wouldn't thank anyone for the "for her age" comment!

I just watched Time Bandits last Friday.  It came in the mail from Blockbuster, as I am a member of their online rental program.  Brazil, however, has a very long wait.

I was "Dan" back on Shadowmarch.

Time Bandits is soooooo weird.

And you guys can look at Helen Mirren all you want, I'll just scope out Reese Witherspoon.

The first time I heard Take Your Mama - which is a very icky song - I also thought it was Elton John at first.  However, I wouldn't have thought it was him from their current high-pitched 70s type single, Don't Feel Like Dancing, which is also horrendously catchy...
