It came at just the Rite time, too.

My copy of Rite arrived today. It's *gorgeous* and I love it very dearly already.

I foresee a lack of sleep in my immediate future.

Have ours further to go than the other side of the world, maybe they're just going that way round, in which case I'll get mine just after Sahi.  Miiru, did you get a email or something saying it was on its way?

I did not; my only warning was tripping over the package when I walked in the door the other day.

Maybe I'm an anomaly.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I didn't have any warnings about the other two books SP sent me either.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I've just had a phonecall from my wife who asked when I ordered the expensive book!
Whohoo, shame I'm not home until Thursday night.

It must be 9 months since I first ordered it.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

O.o

WTF indeed. Did they give any reason? I recently had an amazon order cancel because the card I used to place the order changed the expiry date before the order was processed.

It's just a matter of changing my info, fortunately. I really ought to go do that...

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

Yesterday when I came home I found a note that they had tried to deliver some package at my place, only we weren't at home. If I'm lucky the mailman will come before two today, cause then Ivo is still at home...

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

No, I don't think it was my cc info, I've ordered from the store before (libri.de) and it was never a problem. I'll have to check my account statements though cause I'm pretty sure I already paid back in October... maybe they couldn't uphold the reservation or something? I really have no clue. Well. I'll see where my money went and then I'll order it from amazon, pah.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I received my Limited copy, but not the lettered copy.  I wondered when it will come.

In any case, what a splendid surprise. I thought, "What the hell have I ordered recently?"

The answer, of course, was nothing. I ordered these books a LONG time ago.  :)

Fun fun.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

If I'd ordered the lettered edition, well I'd rather not think about what would have happened, though I'm sure it's an excellent collectors piece and probably a wise investment.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I suspect the Lettered copies weren't sent via the US Post Office, and they'll be arriving by UPS or FedEx or DHL or something similar.

Just a thought. And a hope.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I received my copy! We came home around five and were surprised not to find a note from the mail man. But then our neighbor rapped on the window and gave it to me! (It had been delivered to her in our absence.)

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

Evidently Amazon.com is holding my copy hostage.  I pre-ordered, but they are saying mine won't ship until March even though they also state on their website they have at least 3 left in stock.

Needless to say, there was much ranting at Amazon.com for this inconsistency.

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I ordered a copy, today, and Amazon (.ca)  said it'll be here in four to six weeks.

Ah, well, so long as it gets here. :)

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

Jendaiya, they might be telling you falsehoods.  After emailing Amazon, guess what I found in my email 24 hours later?  The email saying they had shipped my request and another email apologizing for the delay, though with a back handed attempt in blaming me.  They can blame me all they want, I just want my copy of Rite so I can read it.

Wow. I'm glad I ordered from Subterranean Press, if that's the case with Amazon...

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

Opened my package, inside which was a bubble wrap envelope, inside which was a plastic envelope, inside which was a shiny new copy of Rite.  First time I've seen Tad's signature, cool.

Now am I prepared to soil it with my unworthy eyes and fingers; before Lily gets it with Jam or leaves a lollipop on it!

Re: It came at just the Rite time, too.

I asked Subterranean Press, when the lettered ed. might shipp. That will take another 3 or 4 months since the traycases are not finished yet.
