Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: Infinity's

*waves at everyone*

What are you doing for your holiday, Calesta? I would love to go camping (luckily we have campgrounds in town. heh. no traveling involved and I can come home at night and feed cats).

Happy Birthday to your not-so-little one, AJ. :)

Re: Infinity's

In town camping sounds kinda fun Jen!  I'm not much for camping though - unless its like Holiday Inn or something.

We're not doing much - my babysitter's going out of town so we needed to take the time off.  We'll just hang out here - maybe play tourist in our own backyard kind of thing.

2nd week that I'm off my nephew is coming down & he and Juli are going to day camp at the zoo for the week.  It will give me some time to hang out with Will ~ should be kinda fun.

Re: Infinity's

That sounds like the best kind of vacation. Hang around home with time enough to truly relax. No stress about getting somewhere and doing things. :)

Re: Infinity's

I will Calesta :)
Everything else is ticking along thanks.

Sounds as if you'll have a nice break - it's fun to find things locally that you might not have dicovered before.
Right now I'm wishing I was Juli - day camp at the zoo sounds really interesting!

Ben says thank you Jen :)

Re: Infinity's

:) You're welcome, Ben.

It's sunny and hot here, today. Is summer nearly over? Autumn is nice here, usually. Warm and sunny in the beginning, nice enough to be able to go outside and do stuff. This above 30c stuff is nuts. Speaking of hot, I need tea. *wanders off*

Re: Infinity's

Its much cooler here today - we had a little storm blow in around 11pm last night - just when I was going to bed - so that I couldn't sleep for worrying about the canopy on the back deck blowing away.

*sigh*

Thank goodness for triple lattes.

*yawns*

We've got blue sky and huge puffy grey/white clouds. And it's hot. As usual. :)

Re: Infinity's

Ew. That's awful. People really like this weather? I can understand liking sunny and bright, honestly, I can, but hot? Not a chance. Icky yucky.

Just think ~ we're only a few weeks away from September (okay well 7 weeks, but still, that's not much).

Re: Infinity's

Wasn't it seven weeks, like, two weeks ago? Did they add weeks and forget to send me a memo?

It's cooled down a bit here. A bit cloudy, too. Maybe we'll get a storm. *ponders* Nah, not been warm enough.

Does anyone know how long a hard-boiled egg will stay good? If I made one tonight would it be safe to eat in the morning? *wanders over to google*

Re: Infinity's

If you store it in the fridge I'd say it should be fine.

Over here it's now so hot that they've canceled the "Vierdaagse" (a four day walk of 30, 40 or 50 km's a day). Two people got killed by it (the heat most likely, although the news didn't explicitly state that).

Yalahii.

Maybe I just counted wrong the first time - entirely possible you know.  I can't do math in my head :)

Re: Infinity's

Thanks Sahi. :)

*pokes Calesta* Math, dreadful thing, isn't it? So. Is it still seven weeks? ;)

Today we have bit of cloud.

AND

My son is going out with a girl. Oh, woe.  They're just going to the local swimming pool, but still... The horror.

It was real cute watching him get up the nerve to call her. Took a whole day. Then he had to wait for her to call back. Took a whole 'nother day. lol!

Oh, dear, Jen. I remember when Alexandra started dating. Her father wanted to get a shotgun.

And, then, she came to me asking me to set up an appointment with a gynocologist so she could go on the pill!

Re: Infinity's

!!!

*faints*

I'm not listening, I'm not listening, I'm not listening...

Oh, parenthood is tough. I'm sitting here, waiting for him to call for his ride home, all the while knowing that I forgot to tell him when he had to be home. Idiot, me.

He sounds like a great kid though Jen ~ so even though you will worry ~ you don't have to.

@ Em ~ I remember having that conversation with my mom.  And now I have to be terrified for the day the tables are turned.

I was happy to know that at least she felt comfortable enough to talk to me about it. You'll do fine when that time comes, both of you.

What an bittersweet time, Jen. On the one hand, you're so happy for them, but then, they're growing up! *sniffs*

My oldest talked about "when she moves out" today for the first time.

Re: Infinity's

Moving out? Oh, man, that's tough. I seriously hope I have many years before that happens. Well, three anyways. I do want him to go off to college or something. Mostly.

Re: Infinity's

She's 19 and in college at a local community college. She anticipates moving out when she finishes her lower division work - in about a year.

Party? Fer shure? *stuffs cannon full of confetti, blows up balloons until she's blue in the face, orders in truckloads of good things to eat, hires a brass band, fills the balloon net full of balloons, hangs streamers, ices champagne (Dom, of course)*

Okay *whew* I think we're ready! Where's Infinity?
