Well you won't have to pore (sp?) over people's bags. Mine is quite big and will probably be hard to miss, unless I have put it down.
Oh and Aan, I just heard that I won't be allowed to be handing out flyers. *pouts*

Good, that's the way I'd pronounce it too. :)
The story about the bag is that I just made myself one and put pictures up on my website ( www.sahisgreenhouse.nl ).

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
Well I've just put up the Paljas announcement on a few fora, so I'll put it up here too (translation will follow below):
Paljas zoekt talent!
Hoogachtend,
De schouten van Paljas.
Translation: Paljas is looking for talent!
We are looking for minstrels, acrobats, jugglers, jesters and other artists.
On saturday the 22nd and sunday the 23rd of april we will be wandering through fair Elfia. However, to prove yourself worthy you will have to find us yourself. Whoever approaches us will get a chance to show his talent. Time and location will be agreed upon on the spot and will be announced to the world by us thereafter. A real streat artist doesn't need a stage, so there won't be one. A limited assortment of accessoires will be available, we can inform you which those will be.
Yours sincerely, The bailiffs of Paljas

Oh, the Dutch word for bailiff is a bit of a word play on Scout (someone looking for talent).

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
We are now planning on having a crate to stand upon and a banner to be found more easily.
If all goes well it should be a nice and rickety crate (well supported by a stool that is hid underneath it and which is intended to be used to stand upon). The crate will also have weels so we can easily take it along. so far this is just wishful thinking, but my brother will ask the father of his girlfriend if he can make such a thing. It would be very cool. :)
So this weekend I'll go look for the fabric for the banner (or rather a flag on a stick, you know the medieval kind of standard).

Well as long as we may stay on the crate...i once had to do a solo after being carried in a crate ( also rickety and not very well made)....and then realising that i am very very claustrophic....first ten times of practise i screamed in the crate and couldn't start singing for 15 minutes after....hehehe....

This crate will not be big enough to be locked up in. The most it would be able to hold would be your feet. :)

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
Well the banner (or gonfalon as I've found out it's called) is shaped. It's yellow, and it's got three triangles on the bottom with black tassels. During lunch I'm going to fetch some black fabric paint to put our logo on it. And if all goes well I'm going to find a stick for it tonight.

*cheers for bannerness*
Hey when are you going to be walking around with that? And...since my friends only want to go for one day *sobs* which day would you recommend?

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
I really wouldn't know which day to recommend. Most events take place on both days, but some do not. I haven't seen the actual program yet, they are once again late.
And the banner will probably be there both days.
Yesterday I bought two broomsticks and some bolts. Now all I need to do is figure out some way to get the two together in a way that they can easily be separated again. (I have an idea, but don't know exactly yet how to execute it.)
As for the banner itself, the outline our logo is on it and I've started filling it in, but that will be some while yet as the logo is quite large.

Yay, I've found someone offering up a bell that looks a bit like what I want, and for not too much money either. I've just sent him an email asking about postage.

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
None. I did get an email from Deb a couple of days ago, but it was a "real reply soon" kind of email. :) Basically I'd say prepare to keep free all evenings in the week preceding the fair. :) (The original ideal plan was to do something touristy like go to the Keukenhof with such dutch smarchers as would be free during the day, and then have dinner in some easily-reached destination with "everyone". Might still happen, but as it's very short day now, I very much fear most people wouldn't be able to easily attend. Wait and see, I guess. As soon as I do know something solid, I'll let everyone know.)

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
** Oops, it's alive... **
I informed with the Dutch publisher for Tad's schedule, and here's their reply:
Tad Williams zal bij onderstaande boekhandels gaan signeren (en natuurlijk op de Fantasy Fair zelf!):
Do 20-04 19.00 uur tot 21.00 uur Boekhandel de Ark Almere
Vr 21-04 14.00 uur tot 16.00 uur Boekhandel Anderland Oosterhout
Vr 21-04 19.00 uur tot 21.00 uur Boekhandel Donner Rotterdam
(translation: Tad Williams will sign at the bookstores mentioned below and of course at the Fantasy Fair itself; Thursday and Friday dates).
This seems a kind of limited schedule for a week's visit? Unfortunately I'm terribly busy and hectic at the moment, so I probably won't be at the fair. Currently I hope I can make it to the Oosterhout signing on Friday afternoon.
