Hi Tad -
I'm entirely new here - but since I found a place to actually compose - and I certainly haven't had the time to read EVERYTHING else here (Ive tried) - I was wondering - is there anyway the Twilight people could be more developed and less evil, I mean especially from the ancient history - that they were the ones terrorized out of the lands, mistakenly, by illiterate farmfolk!
(SIDE NOTE:The Sithi were awesome - and that was why that series was so sad for me...why I wove a special shawl dedicated to them (Im a weaver)...that series inspired me to want to begin weaving a series of shawls...)
..So back to the so-called evile Shadowfolk - They are my primary interest, secondary would be Qinnitan - thirdly, your underground world...I'd love to do, or see, some artwork of these things - I'm an artist, so I could try my hand at fantasy art...
But yeah, Im mumbling-rambling...but all in all, I truly, truly hope/wish/have faith that the next book will have more in depth look at the Shadowfolk - humans are so dull and often predictable, unless drugged, enchanted or yogis!
Also, thanks for creating Barrick - he is a wonderful character.

I'm sorry to interfere, especially when there are Shadowmarch Lore questions around.(I wish I will have my copy of Shadowmarch at Christmas(AT LAST!)) and will drag Tad from wherever he is hiding to ask, ask, ask questions about this world( totally unknown to me yet)
But now, I have a minor business not to Tad-writer but to Tad-musician. My band has at last made a demo record and it will be outstanding if you would be able to say what you are thinking about the song. It's very interesting what can you say(Actually, I'm afraid). I'm having a question for Tad and everbody else writing storries in here:
Today there've been a woman in my German-class who called herself an author, and she said it is making you feeling really down and depressed to write something, because rereading it you'll only have eyes for all those terrible faults. I thought, that if she thinks so, why IS she writing at all. Now my question: Does writing influence your ego in a negativ or positiv way?

If you look at the time of my last posting here, that's about four or five minutes before the power went off here and just came back on this morning.
It's Deb's birthday today, which means I was wrapping her presents by flashlight. They look like it.

grnwdtree: Welcome aboard! There will be LOTS more about the good and bad sides of the Qar in the second volume, I promise. We'll learn a lot more about them, and travel with a Qar character for a bit.

Kamiko: Excessive negativity or positivity about your own writing is a phase you have to get over to be a successful writer, I think. You have to do your best to see things as even-handedly -- as much like outside readers -- as you can, otherwise it's very hard to make judgements on what needs fixing and what works.

I would also like to say Happy Birthday to Deb, and also wish both of you, your kids, and pets a happy and merry christmas.
While I'm at, I would like to ask two simple questions. I recently got The Dragonbone Chair at my school library, and I'm almost done with the first part. Already, I'm noticing a heavy theme of Christianity, being it mere words or important parts of the history of the world of Ostan Ard, like the Execution Tree and how the man died for everyone.
So here is the question: Does the theme of Christianity remain strongly throughout the entire trilogy? And also, what made you decide to do this? For example, was it the inspiration of CS Lewis and his Narnia books, or was it being a Christian itself?
The last question: I remember you telling me of a script for a cartoon. I think it was called Dogs Vs. The World. I'm just wondering if this is still an active project?
