Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: Infinity's

A fireplace would be nice. Well, Infinity's has a fireplace. *snuggles up*

The flakes of snow stopped. *sigh*

*does another snow dance*

Red Cedar! Smells really nice. We've some at home. My brother-in-law provides us with nice, cut-up firewood. God bless him!

He doesn't cut down the trees - is all just felled trees he happens upon.

Tropical Storm Delta just came on the radar. Out in the middle of the Atlantic - but currently 60MPH .... eek!

Re: Infinity's

Delta?  Jeeez.  Mother Nature is really pushing the limit this year.  Hopefully this is just the odd recordbreaking year and it won't be so bad next summer!

Re: Infinity's

Yikes.  Here's hoping it stays way out at sea.

Still bloody warm here 'though they're predicting cold & snow for the weekend.  Supposed to be super messy in Toronto tonight - 15cms.  That's how I like my winter - far away from me but still helping me make my sales target :)

Re: Infinity's

We got a bit of snow again tonight.  Just a light covering but people still couldn't figure out how to drive in it.  *shakes head*

Re: Infinity's

Snow can be tough to drive in. I don't mind it, but I suppose it would be different if I had to travel on highways or such. The big intersection in town worries me, though. All the darn trucks that go through and never bother to slow down...

There should be serious speed laws when snow is falling and on the road. Like half the posted speed limit or something. Maybe less.

We don't have any snow, but the temp is holding at 0c at the moment. Nice. :)

Re: Infinity's

I hate driving in snow.  But you all know that by now.

Its not so much that I can't do it ~ I can.  Its that the other people get so unbelievably stupid.

Plus I do not like the feeling of sliding on ice & not being able to break.  It makes me queasy.  Same with the feeling of having to pull out into an intersection & not being able to get any traction while there are oncoming cars.

Yikes.

I hate it very, very much.

Supposed to get some snow here this weekend.

Re: Infinity's

We had a tiny haze of snow while I was downtown. You had to concentrate to see it, though.

Oh, well.

Yeah, we're supposed to get it this afternoon. Hopefully, we'll drain all the snow out and you won't have to worry about it. :)

That would be nice jen :)

I guess I can't really complain though - to have had good weather this long is okay.

So glad its friday!  Now I just have to survive the weekend ~ visit from the in laws & a thanksgiving dinner/grey cup party on Sunday for the neighbors.  I should be exhausted for Monday!!!

Re: Infinity's

I want to put my tree up, too.  But can't do it 'til after the dinner this weekend, which leaves maybe a weeknight next week or probably more realistic, Sat the 3rd.  Which seems too late!!!

When's the party Jen?  I take it its not up at Mica this year?  I hafta go get an outfit for the party next Friday.  *sigh*  I need a 36 hour day right now.

Heard from my dad last night - he spent his Thanksgiving in New Orleans.  Says it's very strange down there - as he's the only tourist staying at his hotel - its full of FEMA people, Nat'l guards & cops.  I think even though everything has changed he was really happy to get down there to see it himself & to find his friends. I was too afraid to ask if he'd found all of them.

Re: Infinity's

*collapses on couch*

Up at 4:45am, out the door at 5am, store opened at 6am.  It didn't really die down til 11am.  It was insane, but in a good way.  I can't wait to leave in 3 hours, though...

Glad to hear you survived Jaime!!!  I can't imagine the insanity!

CNN says that 2 million people went through WalMart doors in the first hour they were open this morning.
