Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: a cardboard dog!?

That translated as

"Down can you see, how the Aufsteller looks:  You can order it for 10 EUR (forwarding expenses-free) [ warenkorb to see - order conditions ]"

I kinda get the idea from the title that it is a 2d Tad, what is an Aufsteller?  A put up stand up???

*Lost in translation*

Re: a cardboard dog!?

Yeah, it's a 2D picture, with a flap at the bottom that you can fold so it will stand upstraight. Like what kids use in their shoebox scenerama's (if that is the word).

Re: a cardboard dog!?

I don't like that thing. I mean, I like Tad Williams for his books and for me he is no Rock Star or actor. It's so embarrassing to have a paperboard Tad in your bedroom or kitchen. Not that I don't like Mr. Williams, but don't you think, that this is a litle bit too much?
Insted of making such a nonsense, they should publish a wonderful Otherland, MS&T, Shadowmarch illustrated book. Painted by Michael Wheelan. That would be great.

Re: a cardboard dog!?

Sure, but that requires Tad to actually write that book. Such a thing takes quite a bit of time, while printing out a cardboard picture of him, only requires a couple of minutes of posing on his side. ;)

But I agree, it's not likely that I'll buy myself a miniature Tad.

Re: a cardboard dog!?

I have a question:  Does it talk, or does he just sit there and stare at you?  Either way, it's kinda creepy.  Maybe, if it talked, it could be a motivational Tad?  Maybe something like, "Get your lazy butt out of bed!  What, you think the Hayholt was built in a day?"  Nah, still creepy.  No offense Tad, you're a great guy and everything, this is just ... creepy (IMHO).

Re: a cardboard dog!?

hee check out the "Yoga-pose Tad"....an action figure maybe?

"Look into my eyes...you have been Tadimivized"...

But why not a Tad and Family Barbie doll collection? Be a LOT more realistic...could have them equipped with some pre-set quotes for Devonisms and Connorisms...think Tad and Deb would just make exasperated noises...or odd phrases here and there...8)

*ponders*

Wonder how many S'marchers are "Tadimivized", even without the Tadronome...
