Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
I actually think I might be in Canada next year. Or if not, then maybe in Iceland or...
*grins broadly* I really, really don't know, nowadays even more so than ever before.
But yeah... Tad, next time that I am at a Fantasy Fair, we expect you there as well, 'kay? And if you ask nicely, I might even be able to give you a week or two advance warning on when that'll actually be. :P

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
Thanks, I probably will.
AAARRGGHH! Only two more days (since I leave on friday morning due to volunteering work).
And I still have to finish a scroll (piece of paper glued to broomstick-halves with text on it).

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
I won't be there for the first time in 3 years. I'm off on a two day hike this weekend.
But I will be going to Castlefest on August 5,6 and 7 2005. It will be held at the Castle Lisse (the same location as Elf last year).
Is anyone else thinking of going there?

I'd love to but I'll be in Glasgow at the time. Too bad I can't be in two places at the same time. I'd love to go and see. Maybe next year.

So, how was this year's fair?
Did anyone take pictures? (Aan maybe?)
Did you see Faun? They're from Munich and not bad at all, I think.

Heh no, I'm still at the other side of the world. And Sahi was too busy to take her camera out of her bag. But she pointed me to the elf fantasy forum for tons of links to people's pictures.

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
Word is that Tad will be a guest at next year's fantasy fair (april 22-23). 'course, Elf has a habit of saying that certain people will show up and then having it not happen - and they haven't officially announced this yet that I've seen.
Still... Taddicus? Any word from you on if you know about this?

They have kindly invited me, and I have not yet answered, simply because I haven't had a chance to look at a schedule with Deb and think about it.

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
At least this time Tad already knows about it. Last year they claimed the same, but he hadn't even heard of it. ;)
*keeps fingers crossed*
Tad, if the kids wouldn't have school, I'd say bring em along. Plenty of other kids around. Lots of fun activities and things to see. :)

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
I'm working with Deb too to see about arranging a moot.
As for the fair, I'm assuming Marion, Isabel and Relayquin will be there by default. Kunohara as a recently active dutchie will probably attend (?), and... who else is there nowadays? I haven't been keeping up with the board too much given all my traveling. Any other new dutchies around? How about other Europeans attending? We got Aenwyn (and Jaime) before, and that was without Tad, so I'm saying we should get at least a couple this time. lian? Aenwyn? Anyone seen djf or Dread lately? How about Peter, I hear he does meets nowadays??! Or you UK people?

In reply to the above: Yes, I think I will go there this year. It's a good thing they didn't plan it together with the exams this year. Tad being there also improves things. Probably there's even more good reasons.
But "Recently aquired"? I have been around for almost three years. I wasn't loud in those early days, but around I was.

Well, I'm most likely going by train and from Eindhoven. Cheaper but not free since it's going to be on a weekend. But if you've got a car there's the possibility of picking me up.

Comforting, mostly (I've seen it all) - at least when I don't try and count back to arrive at "it's been how many years now?". ('course, there's another forum for which I'll be hitting my seven year anniversary next month... *shakes head and ponders achievements over that timespan*)

Hey if the whole ride thing definately falls through i'm also coming by train...from Maastricht...maybe we could meet up...
Btw is everyone going to be dressed up? My needle skills are ok, but go as far as re-attaching buttons, and not much further....and between buying a train-ticket and the fair itself, money will be quite a problem in the dress area....

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
I will come in costume, I don't think Aan will. *shrugs* It doesn't really matter if you do. I think about a third of all the people there will be in costume. (Although the organisation has claimed that it was half the people attending.) So you won't be allone if you don't come in costume. (And you won't be alone when you do.)

I hate ruining the surprise, but... I actually will come in "costume". Nothing fancy - and it definitely took me far less time than you're putting into your setup - but still fantasy-themed. :)

Re: Fantasy Fair in the Netherlands (annual event)
Ooh, I can't wait to see what you've got. It will be surprise enough to see what it is. *fidgets*
And I still don't know exactly what my brother is wearing either. It will be his third costume already. And I might be putting a lot of effort in my costume, but it's still a pretty simple thing (compared to what else you can see at the fair, anyway). What I put in is mostly a lot of thought and wishes. ;)
