Infinity's
Welcome to the summer edition.
We'll sit by the pond in the shade of a maple and sip drinks that have tropical names and watch the snow melt off the mountaintops...
Enjoy. :)

Re: Infinity's
It may be summer outside, but it's winter in my office. I have on a sweater and my denim jacket and I'm still a bit on the cold side.

Cube rocks indeed. Vincenzo Natali rocks. May he make many more movies. David Hewlett rocks. Canadian movies rock. I want to go to Canada! :)

Question: Do they have a Fourth of July in England?

Its another one of those days when I REALLY want to move in here for good. Infinity won't mind will he?
How's your PDA Jen? I would love one but have almost decided that its time to save up for an iPod.
Is it easy to get songs from my cds into an iPod? I don't know anything about it yet...

Re: Infinity's
I'm loving my PDA. It's great. I've got Ebooks and Audiobooks and MP3's plus an organiser and calendar and a program to manage my grocery list. I've got a couple of games and a program for outlining that'll help me with my notes while I write. And bunches of other things that I can't remember. Not only that, but it's cute and not as expensive as an iPod. *grins*
Happy 4th of July to all you people down south. :)

Re: Infinity's
How many MP3's might it hold? And so I assume it comes with earphones? I'm so ignorant so please excuse my stupid questions!
Sounds like something maybe I should look into - my memory is so brutal these days. Hmmmmm...

Re: Infinity's
Hmmm... I'm not sure how many songs it will take. In order for it to play songs you hafta get a tiny expansion card. There's a package deal going on at future shop, where the palmOne Zire 31 comes with a card and headphones. I didn't go for that deal, though, I bought an card seperatly. The card I got, however, is huge-ish, 512mb, so it should hold TONS of songs (most songs seem to be between 4 and 6 mb, so it shouldn't fill up too quickly). I don't think that the battery life is nearly as good as something like an iPod or another staright MP3 player. But the functionality that I get makes up for it entirely.
The way I learned about this kinda thing was, literaly, to browse around the Future Shop web site, reading customer reviews and using their comparison charts to decide what works best. My husband has a straight MP3 player (a Creative Muvo, he uses it for music and Audiobooks while at work) and we chose it the same way, by browsing and comparing.

Re: Infinity's
Thanks Jen! I've never really spent any time on the future shop website - but just from briefly browsing around there it looks like they have some good info. I was looking at the $199 package - how much did your big memory card cost, if you don't mind my asking... (feel free to tell me to do my own research*g*)

Re: Infinity's
I got the card for 65$. It was on sale. So, it cost a bit but I think the extra storage for music and books and programs was well worth it. Plus, I didn't get the regular deal they offered, I went for a refurbished model ($129), got FS's two year warranty, (much better than the manufacturer) and got a larger card. It worked out near enough to the same as their deal and got me more starage and a warranty that seems logical considering it's refurbished. :)
The battery only lasts about four hours when I'm playing music and doing stuff, so if you want something that lasts longer you may want to do more investigating, but I don't have a problem with charging it every night and I don't have a tendancy to play music for hours on end. I have, however, been spending most of my days reading ebooks (reading the Farseer stuff again, heh) and managing my schedules and lists and programs.

Re: Infinity's
Very cool. Sounds like it was a good purchase. I don't imagine I'd ever have more than 4 hours a day to listen to music anyway -- unless it was disney classics or something.
Thanks again Jen!
