Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
I had a ton of my little ponies growing up. Still might have a few that were my favourites in the depths of my closet, actually.
And the my little ponies I had never had magnetic feet. Just big chunks of moulded plastic. Magnetic feet would have been really cool... opens up a whole new world of possibilities! Ponies on the fridge, on door frames, the car...

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
Only one of their feet is magnetic. At least my daughters' have only one magnetic foot. They think it's really neat that their ponies leave footprints on their various magnetic doodle pads.
That's 'cause every one here is just more than contented to be livin' and dyin' in 3/4 time

i always loved magnetic doodle pads, because i loved the zen-like feel of watching the little iron shavings rise up to stick to the stylus. i could literally sit there for hours just making abstract designs and listening to the gentle rustle of moving fragments.

A lot of toys and shows from the eighties are coming back, My little ponies, Jem and the Holograms, Carebears, Strawberry Shortcake, etc. Children of the 80's are now parents and get a sense of nostalgia when they can buy for their kids the toys they played with when they were little.
What kind of action figures / dolls would we make? Funderling action figures / dolls would probably rake in the cash.

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
Wow, I actually want to go back to work now to see if I can make the My Little Pony stick to something. Yes, boys have them, too.
(It was kind of by accident, but the books weren't. And I have to read "Pinkie Pie's Big Surprise" or whatever far too often. :) )

Man that clears things up a bit. I was amused by thoughts of Marian sticking ponies to the company fridge - or scaring the bejeezus out of someone by placing a magnetic hoof over someones harddrive... and was starting to get ideas of my own....

I'm with Stuart. Completly lost. Boys have them too? Have what? What books? Oh well.

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
seems to me she's nannying a boy, who has my little ponies (not just girls have them). seems like him having the actual toys came about accidentally, but him having mlp books was not so accidental. *shrug* just my take on it...

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
*giggles* Sorry, guys, didn't mean to cause so much confusion.
So, yes, I watch boys for a vocation, and they ended up with one of their cousin's ponies by accident. Now they have two, though, so they also seem to multiply just as scarily for boys.
And hi Taddums! Miss you, too. I am very lazy online these days. (Even my LJ friends think so, so I'm not just a traitor, promise. :) )
Things are good. I can speak Italian fairly well now, so now you and I can speak in code and no one else will know! Except Italians. And people who speak Italian. But other than that...

heh. italian's actually pretty easy to read, if you're familiar with pretty much any other romance or sanskrit based language =)

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
I was going to type a long summary of all the fascinating things going on around here, but 1) there aren't any, and 2) I'm icing my elbow and it hurts like the dickens (have to do it after basketball) and so I'll be back later.

Tad, I think it's time for you to make a preemptive strike on your after-basketball pain. You know, like get some of those Ben Gay patches and slap them onto your knees and elbows.
And maybe down half a bottle of Tylenol.
Heck, maybe you should just wear the ice pack while you play :)

Re: DOGBLOG: Valley of the Cute Pink Ponies
I can remember when I used to play squash about 3 times a week and went to the quack with tennis elbow, the injection was far more painful than the ailment so I stopped playing. Now I get golf elbow, just a sign of my age.
