Nothing´s been planned yet but that´s definitely a good idea. However, I think it´s way too early to make concrete plans at the moment. I for one won´t even know when I might arrive in Köln on the day until March 17 or 18. The best time to set something up seems to be in the days immediately before the reading.

I can't imagine anything would prevent me from going out for a beer and/or food afterward, so if anyone wants to join me...

While I am brandnew here, I have been a huuuuuge fan of Tad Williams' work for many years now. I have re-read MST so many times now, it's not funny. I just finished Shadowmarch, and was really thrilled to find out about the reading. My spouse and I are definitely going to come, and we'd be delighted to go out for a drink afterwards.

My spouse is hoping you'll still speak in English, Tad, because she's American and her German needs some improvement still. ;)

Okay so here it is: Any Dutchies (or even Belgians) driving there? If you do you will most likely pass my location in a very short distance. This means: coming from the west: NO detour!!!.

Which isn't a bad idea on itself. It is just the fact that I live in just about the worst for doing that.

They even want me to leave before I get there if I want to be back on the same day. (Which is quite neccessary because of my plans the day after.)

I would  love to got to köln to but the tickets for the train cost too much I just cant effort to get there...
I could get a wochenende tickte but i would need to which is too expensiv for me cause I´m just a poor student...damn!

I just bought my ticket for Tad's reading in Cologne. I'm not quite sure yet whether I'm going to drive home (2,5 hrs by car) the same night or stay at a hotel - while actually Tad's suggestion about joining him for a beer afterward seems to make the decision much easier... ;-)
Anyway - if there's somebody else from the Heidelberg/Mannheim/Ludwigshafen region to go to Cologne, we could save money by driving there together. Just mail me.

Ah... one question: I'm wondering how Tad is going to manage the signing of his books after the event, i.e. wouldn't it be too impertinent to bring on all 4 Otherland volumes? AND the MST volumes? AND War of Flowers? AND Tailchaser's Song? (just kidding a bit...) If all people do that, our beer order will be placed at 8 o`clock in the morning, I guess...

At the reading in Berlin was a guy who brought a big backpack full of books to get signed. He must have had everything Tad has ever written in at least two different editions in there. Took him several minutes just to unpack all the books and put them on the table. It was quite the spectacle.
