Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

Re: Infinity's

Hello Crissy. I've gathered from catching up on reading around Smarch that you're new. A welcome from an oldie here. I'm usually about alot but have been very busy with my business. Hope you love Smarch as much as the rest of us.

Congrats on your good news.

Re: Infinity's

Yeah, we got a fresh shipment of Smarchers courtesy of the paper edition of said book. Fortunately they're just as weird and crazy as we are, so it's business as usual. Just busier.

@sher - didn't lose my job, just thinking a change is needed.... can only take so much spiritual devastation before I have to do something about it...  (that said, I always say I'll leave but then I never do)

Re: Infinity's

Congrats, crissy!!

And to counter all the bad days I'm having a really good one so far! *knocks on wood* :)

The class I was looking forward to looks like it will be pretty good, though quite a bit of work.  Got my timesheet handed in for my marking job at the uni, and the prof asked if I'd be interested in helping out with a class this term as well, though it might not be a lot.  But I'll take whatever I can get! :D

*does a little dance*

*puts out cheesecake*
'cause cheesecake is good for celebrating and good comfort food as well!  Yum!

They've strawberries growing in the biosphere!  Great with cheesecake and champagne (also necessary for celebrating).

bowling, eh?  sounds.... interesting!

They are predicting a big winter storm for us tonight - lots of snow, wind and temps at -30 (which is the same in F and C).  Just ick.  As my husband is leaving for Montreal in the morning it is very possible that I will have the flu tomorrow and have to stay home.

Re: Infinity's

Oh, right, you guys are getting a storm. SO NOT FAIR. I would love to have a storm that had lots of snow. We have so little this year.

Think I'm gonna make cookies today. :) Maybe.

Today is the 11th day in a row of mid-70's weather here, although they are predicting rain for the weekend.  Figures, sunny and wonderful during the work week, yucky on the weekend.

Re: Infinity's

we sooooo need to trade places Jen!!!!

We're planning our summer trip & I was all excited because we're driving down to Idaho through BC & I (being still kind of ignorant of interior BC geography) thought that Revelstoke might be on our route.

But its not.  We'll be going through the Crowsnest Pass to the south and then down to Cranbrook for our first stopping point.

I know I'm pathetic because we're not going 'til June but I'm very excited already & much prefer daydreaming about trips that are 6 months away to the reality of my current job....

*heads back into daydream*

Re: Infinity's

Crowsnest is pretty. Maybe you can come back this way. :) Though why you'd want to considering we don't have a Tim's... ;)

If I could travel I would be spending all my time daydreaming about it, too.

I made cookies and they didn't quite turn out. It was a new recipe and I'm pretty sure I know how to fix it but it's always sad when cookies don't work. :(

We're coming back through Montana & Southern Alberta - we have to drop my mom off in Missoula so that's the way we're going.  Maybe someday I'll get through your part of the mountains.

Calesta -

Can I share your daydream?  I am so bloody bored (at work) that I want to poke my eye out.

yikes!  that sounds like a horrible day Martha!

Had to hunt up some "real" coffee.  All that is left on this floor is flavored or de-caf.  Third floor had Sumatra.  Maybe all is not lost.

The horriblest part about the work I am currently doing is I have to pay strict attention to what I am doing. No daydreaming. So, I guess I cannot join you in your Winnebago. Thanks for the invite, tho!

Now we're both having fun!

@Calesta- my cookies are okay for human consumption. They just aren't the way I remember my mom making them, they turned out hard and cripsy. Blah.
