::snarls at wiked::
::is all smiles otherwise::
except that unfortunately, sahi, i don't think there's going to be opportunity for "years to come." he's been accepted for this program that sends people to japan where they learn japanese and teach english. he leaves at the end of july and will be gone for a year. i knew it was pending, but didn't know it would be so soon. so for now, we're just enjoying each other's company.
had another great time with him. thai food and dancing. and smooching. heee. :)
he's looking to come up here next friday to go to the coffee house with me, so that'll be cool. i hope someone good is playing.

Re: Mooey's Bouncy Castle
Two and a half good things going on in Mooeyland:
NJB is coming up here on friday to go to coffee house.
I learned today that I got the department transfer I put in for.
None of my summer clothes fit properly.
If I had the means to replace them, this last one would be a full good thing instead of half of one.

Re: Mooey's Bouncy Castle
i felt the need to record this for posterity.
my cousin lisa's on the computer in the living room and the rest of us are eating in the kitchen. i'm feeding some scraps to the dog and he snaps at my hand a little too hard, so i say "easy!" lisa had the headphones on and couldn't make out what i said, so she asks, "did you just call me?"
we haven't stopped laughing at her <G>
and for those who have been following As The Mwyrld Turns, the NJB came up to see me last night. there isn't much to do around here and even the plans i could make were foiled (miscommunication within the coffee house led to me being told a kickass musician would be there only to learn that some crappy experimental group was playing instead). but it was still a nice time. i had told him i would understand completely if he didn't want to come to beacon anymore, and he was very apologetic and telling me he didn't; he wanted to take turns so as to keep things fair, but there's *nothing* to do in beacon. i told him that that was exactly why i didn't mind being the one to travel <G> so i'll be going to see him next weekend. ~glee~

Re: Mooey's Bouncy Castle
Mooey bumbed to bed melodramatically, the back of one hand on her forehead and lashing her tail quite preciesely for the most effect.
"Oh, stop," said Candide, rolling her eyes at the little dragon.
Mooey used every ounce of effort that was left in her ailing little body to pull herself onto her bed and nestle among her down pillows. She heaved a big sigh and rasped, "Please, don't speak... I haven't much energy to reply and yet would feel compelled to do so as to not be rude." With another big sigh, she glanced away and languished into the comfort of her bed.
Candide merely shook her head and fussed with the blankets and pillows and pushed Mooey's nightstand a little closer to the bed. "It's strep throat, not the black death. You're going to be fine." She was going to add that she didn't know where Mooey learned to be so melodramatic then thought better of it. She left the room without another word and Mooey fluffed up the pillows some more.
Candide returned a few moments later with a big steaming mug of tea with honey, some toast, and a pill that, to Mooey, was the size of her own head. She clapped her hands over her mouth. "Nuh-uh."
"Yuh-huh. I'm sorry, but it's the only way. And yes, you have to swallow it whole." Mooey's eyes grew huge and watery. There was no possible way! Not even cartoon physics would allow that enormous pill down Mooey's gullet. She pulled the blanket up over her head and whimpered.
Candide's head appeared under the blanket from the foot of the bed, and she congratulated herself for remembering to wear a no-fuss wig that day. She sighed and her frustrated face softened. "Little dragon, if there was another way, I'd make it happen in a second. Unfortunately, there isn't. Now, your tea and toast will go down better while they're still warm, and that'll make the pill go down easier, too. So how about coming out and taking a bite? It's currant tea and there's honey butter on the toast."
Mooey sniffled and raised her sad eyes a little. "Currant jelly?"
Candide smiled slightly. "There's none in the house, but I can go out for some for the next go-'round."
Mooey pondered this a moment and decided it sounded like a fair deal. She sniffled again and nodded and emerged from the blanket. She crunched into the toast, which was sweet and nutty-tasting and still a little warm. Oat-nut bread is the best, she thought, especially as toast. She took a sip of tea and eyed the medical monstrosity that was supposed to make her feel better.
"Go ahead, honey," said Candide, "put it in your mouth and wash it back with a sip of tea."
Mooey made a grand show of opening her mouth as wide as possible and puffing out her cheeks to show that the pill was too big for her mouth, nevermind her throat. She caught a glare from Candide, prompting her to take a gulp of her tea. The pill, so big a moment ago, slid straight down like it was nothing, but she swore she heard a *THUD* when it hit her stomach.
Mooey made a bad face is distaste and snuggled deep into the pillows, pouting at Candide. Candide patted her on the head and left the room, closing the door behind her. Mooey took the teaspoon and, using the back of it like a mirror, opened up wide to see inside her throat. Nothing but dots, she thought, and here I thought that big pill would have scraped them all away.
Our little dragon friend swallowed once and looked again, sighing heavily. She sipped some more of her tea, crunched on the last few bites of toast, and settled for a nap, hoping she would be all better when she woke up and anticipating the tart sweetness of currant jelly on her next plate of toast.

Re: Mooey's Bouncy Castle
guh. so you actually have strep?? yeah, i hope for both your sakes *wink* that you're all cleared up by the weekend...have fun either way, though!
i've somehow never gotten strep. it seems most people have/do, but it steers clear of me. which is fine. i don't get poison ivy, either...

Re: Mooey's Bouncy Castle
@jaded: the mooey stories are nearly always reflective of things from my real life... when candide changed wigs, that was when i cut my hair... mooey got glasses when i got glasses, and my doc really is a hot greek guy named Dr. Kaknis.
so yes... i have strep. i work in a drug rehab, so there's always something being passed around for everyone to fall ill with. i talked to one of the PAs at work today, and he said that after the first 24 hours of antibiotics, i'm no longer contageous, so i should be all set for the weekend! wheee! he also told me to make sure i take lots of fluids, then specified that he meant water ;)

NJB update:
Had amazing weekend. Watched Lilo & Stitch at his place Fri. night, on Sat. went to the theatre to see Shrek 2, then to his dad's place to borrow The Triplets of Belleville, but we ended up just watching it there. His dad's cool. Other than movies, had Italian in Little Italy on Fri. and fought with myself very hard to keep from buying gorgeous purse in Chinatown. Got gelatto. Yummy. In the morning, we went to the same little Greek diner from last time I was down there, then again this morning. It's kinda become our breakfast place <G> Also went back by that park with the sculpture yesterday and found out it was created at the sculpture foundry in my town. Go figure. He also showed me the firehouse they used in Ghostbusters. That was verra cool. And... that's about all I can really tell here.
